I am a newbie at bluetooth, having just purchased a UE Megaboom and a Miccus Home TX Pro to have signals from other than my phone. The Miccus company is the most modest company I have ever run into. Yesterday I measured how far I could walk down my street and still get signal from the TX Pro with the short antenna that came with it. Miccus says the range is 150 feet. I had a portable CD player as my source feeding the TX Pro a siund signal thru the headphone jack. I was able to walk out beyond 900 feet before the signal started breaking up a bit. I didn't totally lose it till I reached 1080 feet!! Today I opened the box that this longer range $9.99 longer antenna came in, put this longer antenna on the TX Pro, and then walked down the street again to see how much farther I could receive a signal. I got out 1260 feet and was still receiving a solid signal. After that it started breaking up, and it wasn't till 1440 feet before I totally lost the signal. This is a gain of 360 feet! Miccus says you may get 20-40 feet more. These guys are too modest! This is crazy good stuff! I am getting 10 times the range the company advertises. Now maybe they want to be conservative so no one complains, or to allow for walls or other obstacles. Whether you want another 360 feet by buying a $9.99 antenna is up to you. I think getting over 1,000 feet with the short supplied antenna is plenty good. My own situation is that I would like to be able to walk to my dock while broadcasting from my cabin, which is about 700 feet, so I want the extra ommph. It's only $9.99. I would not hesitate to buy anything from this company, based on my experience with just these two products. My only beef with the longer antenna was that the antenna's knurled nut that screws onto the socket on the back of the TX Pro was a bit too wide, which made it a little hard to start catching the threads, and then it pressed in on the case when fully tightened. Not a big deal, but the company could make this nut a bit thinner to fit better. Just a minor fit and finish issue. I would give this company 6 stars if I could.

Did not work for my application. The comnector on this unit is male. The place it is to attach is male as well. That is they both had center pins. The threaded parts seemed compatible however.

The diameter of the base of this antennae is 12.92 mm. The diameter of the base of the smaller antennae is 10.09 mm. It doesn't seem like much BUT when the larger antennae is attached to the Miccus Proven 300ft Long Range Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver you can no longer get the power cable micro-USB back into the transmitter unit. I am returning the item.

If you plan on using it for your old home stereo (older than 30yrs.) you will need an adapter from 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter headphone jack. It works well for using Bluetooth via headphone connection. Simply pair your Miccus Swivel Jack RTX with your Bluetooth speaker and insert your Swivel Jack RTX into the headphone adapter and then into your headphone jack on your stereo. I give this a 5 star rating for pairing and installation. I really shouldn't rate it for sound quality because that depends on other factors not related to the Miccus device. I use the OontZ Angle 3 (3rd Gen) - Bluetooth Portable Speaker. It is a small speaker at a good price. Sounds great to me. I can take my Bluetooth speaker to my garage or outside on the patio.
