The only assembly was if you want is to mount this which is very easy. The bulb itself is of a thinner type then a similar size one it replaced, supposed to use less electricity, I don't know about that but it is super bright much brighter then what it replaced. The on/off switch is easy to access to as I have it mounted under a cabinet over a kitchen sink and it is more then bright enough for that job. ### ⭐⭐ Not so fast... *by G***O on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on April 9, 2011* I purchased this fixture to replace the model GU9721 fluorescent light that i got at Lowes. The one from Lowes was a cheap piece of crap.There's three types of fluorescent light bulbs:1. Soft white (yellowish, dull)2. Bright white (not toooo bright, provides nice light)3. Daylight (very bright, for spaces that get little\no natural light)Another nice feature is that the bulb that shipped with this fixture appears to be a Daylight bulb. It gives off a terrific amount of light. At 14 watts it lights up nearly my entire kitchen!Two negatives:1. it lasted only 3.5 years before failing.2. instructions, which mention something about a 'diffuser' that's not found in the package or on the light.
