Informative / fun fact book for grandson

This is hands-down one of the BEST books you can get for 3rd–5th graders. My students were absolutely obsessed with Weird But True! Animals. I’m talking full-on “who gets it first?” negotiations, rock–paper–scissors battles, and kids trying to hide it in their desks so no one else could steal their turn. The facts are hilarious, gross, surprising, and totally perfect for this age group—slugs with green blood, pigs that paint, goat yoga… the kind of stuff that makes kids burst out with “Did you KNOW…?” every five seconds. The photos are bright and engaging, and the bite-sized facts make it ideal for reluctant readers too. It’s great for morning meeting shares, fast finishers, classroom libraries, car rides, or any kid who loves animals (or weirdness). Just a heads-up: if you’re buying this for a classroom or household with multiple kids, you might want to grab more than one. Trust me—they will argue over it.

My 10-year-old loves these books. It was a great surprise that I gave him for a long flight. The size is perfect to easily fit in his backpack. He finds these books fascinating, and I love that he’s filling his mind with real facts/trivia rather than just Pokémon. Highly recommend.

This book is filled with vibrant colors and facts. My daughter really enjoys looking at all of the pictures and gets a lot of laughs. My one complaint is this book is very small. I guess I was expecting more of an average sized book. It is more of the size of a baby's board book.

My kids all love weird but true books. They are so interesting and fun to read. This would make a great gift paired with a cute stuffed animal.

Great size for kids and has a lot of really cool information for the kids that are into learning about cool, unusual things dealing with animals.

My boy had this for Christmas and didn’t look at it for a while. He started to read it however and has enjoyed telling me about the interesting things he’s read about. He’s also taken it to school to show his teacher.
