Very secure when attached.
I am giving this 5 stars even thought it does not fit on my 2024 Subaru Outback. The front to back depth of the attachment bracket is literally a few millimeters too thick for the space between the mirror body and the pivot arm the mirror attaches to. So when I installed the bracket the mirror was pushed up to the point where I could only see the very top of my rear window. I was installing the bracket from my passenger seat so the steering wheel was not in my way, and I didn't notice the issue until I sat in my driver's seat to pull the car out of the garage. I drove all the way to work without the use of my rear-view mirror just to see how the mount would hold up and it is ROCK SOLID. No vibration, no bouncing or anything. I do recommend this product..... just not if you have a 2024 Outback. The mount is made very well, it is very easy to install. And the minor depth issue can't really be blamed on either the car or the mount... they just don't work together as it is intended to be installed. I have not given up yet though, I am going to see if it is possible to mount the bracket securely to the 'down' arm of the mirror. Who knows. ***UPDATE*** The mount is working perfectly mounted to the down arm of the rear view mirror! It took a little bit of stubbornness to make it work where I wanted it... but I had a feeling it would fit and it did! It looks amazing with the radar detector just below the mirror and it is completely solid. I really like how tightening and loosening both ball joints is done by one easy to use handle. I wish I bought this a long time ago.

Sturdy and reliable
I think this is a must have if you plan on mounting your radar detector. It keeps it out of your way but still visible, it's also very stable and holds onto your radar detector very well. It includes everything you need and even some extra screws. Installation and adjustment is very easy. It's a huge upgrade from suction cup mounts, as I no longer have to worry about it falling off while driving down the road.

Great mount but Tesla X owners should read this first
Very happy with this mount so far. It's very sturdy and stable once it's all tightened down. Installation is easy for the most part, and works without a hitch with the Uniden R3 and R4 detectors. The only challenge I had was getting it to fit a 2022 Tesla Model X (Plaid, if that matters). The "stem" that connects the backside of the mirror to the windshield mirror mount on the car is very short, which doesn't leave much room to install this radar mount. And once it's installed, the mirror itself can only barely be adjusted to provide the rear view the driver needs. I had to mount it at an odd angle, and it still severely limits the mirror's movement. Fits great on a 2024 Ram 1500 and on a 2024 GMC Yukon though. Could be improved somewhat with more accommodating bracket mounting hardware for cars with a tight space between the mirror and the windshield mirror mount.

Excellent Uniden R8 radar mount!! No need for a Blendmount anymore.
Update: just to confirm if you remove the screws to swap the radar mount connection the screws will vibrate out. I'm not sure if they can be tightened down and better but I did take the advice that was suggested in another post and I added some gorilla glue to the threads and screwed them back in. I felt like Threadlicker Blue may not be fully necessary but if this doesn't work, that's the next step. As of now, I have no reason to unscrew the connector. Update: added pictures of my finished mount with my R4. It's really an easy install, took me 20min just cause I was fiddling with the clip. Be aware that this mount is like a 1/4 of a millimeter smaller in thickness. That means you may notice your radar vibrating. I'm in a big old school Tahoe so it was crazy shaking. I added a SMALL piece of electrical tape to the clip and pushed it in, no more vibrating! Looks good!🔥 I decided to get an R4s because the R7 is not compatible with Bluetooth and range is better on the R4, just no arrow. I did not get the R4w because the price I got on the R4 was $110 cheaper than the R4w and the only difference is I have to update the software on the computer, that's only a 5 minute inconvenience thats not happening that frequently. I have a Uniden R8 and this fits super snug!!!! At first I thought the clip didn't fit as it DID NOT click into the radar. I gave it a nice push and clicked right into place, absolutely no wiggle. I bought this to test the fit as I was intending to buy a Blendmount since I already had one. However I need 2 mount for new vehicles and I definitely didn't want to buy 2 Blendmounts for $125 each ($250). Now that I know this mount will fit. I can confidently add the R4 and R7 to upgrade my vehicles. I've been using the Beltronics RX65 for 12 years and they have performed very well but it's time to upgrade and the R8 has me absolutely spoiled with the directional arrows, but the R7 software update now makes it a hand second place unit. I also like that the knob is twist to tighten and allows for multiple positioning angles. Great mirror mount to finish my installs up!

Sturdy. I like it!
It works well for the Uniden R8. It comes with some accessories together with longer screws. I used the long ones since the mirror is wider than other back mirrors. The slider is long enough to reach the radar releaser, but its not like the OEM that fits perfect. It has a little play on it, but it will work. It doesn't wiggle, and holds the radar pretty good compared to the suction cup the radar comes. The suction cup lost its properties and it falls down all the time. This is a better replacement, even if your suction cup still works, I recommend getting it since it doesn't mess with your windshield.

Lasted a week without problems
Update: The seller has quickly contacted me and offered a full refund. Very good response. Installation and use were easy and seemed like a great mount, but as others have noted, there are some issues. It's good that they include additional screws, as you will probably need them. First, as you can see in the picture, the bar that clips into the radar detector bends easily. It is not magnetic, so I assume it is aluminum or some other cheaper material. This bend made it fit my Uniden R8 better as the round piece it is screwed into now doesn't hit the detector casing and it now snaps into place. This is evidence of inferior materials being used. More importantly, as others have noted, the 4 screws that hold the bar to the round plastic have no lock washers. I do not drive daily and was not removing and reinserting the detector daily. Yesterday I noticed the radar detector started pivoting around. Only one of the four tiny screws remained and that screw was loose. These screws are so tiny and they are impossible to find; they are magnetic, so I am trying to sweep the car with a strong magnetic but so far I have not found even one of them. I was able to scrap a similar screw from an old computer TV tuner card's heatsink as I can't find the extra screws that came with the product. I used a little crazy glue in the screw holes to hopefully keep the screws from coming out, but I don't have much hope in this either. TL;DR: If you can manage to figure out how to keep the 4 screws in place, it's not a terrible and affordable solution.

Works great with our Uniden R7
When the suction cup mount that came with our Uniden R8 basically melted on our window and fell off (we've been in TX and the truck sits outside in the sun all the time) my husband wanted a mirror mount instead but the one he wanted was well over $100 and so I saw this and thought we'd give it a try first. The box is tiny so I didn't have much hope when I first got it and thought it would be getting returned, but it comes with a lot in the box, everything you need to get it mounted. We have it installed in a 2024 GMC Sierra. It took me 2 tries and I was ready to give up on it, but I really didn't want to spend another $100 on the one he wanted so I tried again. Turns out it was more of a user error than anything - I thought I would need the longer screws as I couldn't get the shorter ones around the mirror mount at first, but the long ones were way too long. I finally loosened the short ones clear up until it almost came out and then was able to twist it and got it on. It tightened up well, looks good, and is very adjustable/flexible to fit how you want it, whether it's right up against the mirror or lower so you can reach buttons on top of the radar. It says it works with an R8 and we have one on it now, but it doesn't "lock" on like the R7 does (the R7 fit perfectly, but the R8 is my husbands and the mount we were replacing was the R8 mount). I don't know if something inside our R8 is broke as it also doesn't "lock" on an actual Uniden R8 suction mount that I had ordered before he said he wanted a mirror one instead of a suction mount. So, we just have the R8 pushed on as far as it will go and so far it's stayed and hadn't vibrated or seemed to have moved at all. We've had it installed for probably 3 weeks now, he drives at least an hour a day and goes quite fast (hence the radar) so it's generally not a smooth ride and it's been sturdy and held up so far. I am considering another one for our Jeep Wrangler (with the R7) but the suction mount in that vehicle is still hanging in, but I know what I'm going to replace it with when it gives up the ghost. Bottom line, I'd buy it again and it's hard to beat for the price.

Mounting plates dont quite fit
The mount is great, fits perfect and is very sturdy. I love that it comes with many options, longer screws, extra bushings, and all the necessary tools. HOWEVER none of the provided plates match my R7 perfectly. It only works when i insert the plate with an angle, it will not go in flush because the back og the plate is too wide. Seller if you can get me an R7 plate that is not as wide in the rear so that it can fit flush that would be great 🙏🙏🙏

Does the trick!
So far so good. Super easy to install - came with wrenches and a screwdriver. I bought it for my R8. Yes, the plate that connects to the R8 is a tight fit, but I don’t mind as it makes a more rigid fit. It came with some extra o-rings which appear to be replacements for the ones installed… nice touch…. I also used some loc-tight on the small screws for added security.
