This item is AMAZING!! It helps prevent your dog from chewing the stick all the way down and accidentally swallowing a piece that's a little too big. MY ONLY COMPLAINT: my dog continued to chew it even after the stick was only a little nub. She chewed so much that now the screw is almost impossible to loosen/tighten so it's basically impossible to use anymore. I ended up buying another and i take it away once she's done chewing on the actual stick to prevent her from chewing on the toy.

I bought this for my Australian Shepherd puppy. The holder is great. But you have to get it in there tight. The bully sticks fit well in the holder and are good quality but some are a little too skinny or weirdly shaped. Sometimes I use pliers to tighten them in there. And she spends a lot time trying to get the left over piece out which keeps her busy for a long time. I love this product.

This device is perfect for dogs who like bully sticks. If you put the bully stick correctly into the device, it stays there and the dog can chew the stick from both sides. (Make sure the “screw” goes right on top of the groove in the bully stick and then make sure you tighten the device strongly.) Our dog, who uses this device has now learned to bring it to us whenever he wants a bully stick and we all make a big production out of it. (He doesn’t get one every time, though). I think the device is over priced, but to us, it’s worth it. Highly recommend it. Little side note: our other dog, who is not as an aggressive chewer, always gets the piece that’s left over.

This is the first review I've done and feel compelled to write after just one use. Our pup swallowed the last few inches of a bully stick we recently gave her. It made me nervous to give her any more so I started researching and found the bully buddy. She's a 25 lb golden retriever puppy so I ordered up to the medium as she'll be 30 lbs before we know it. The website also said for aggressive chewers (she is!) to order up a size. I'm not sure that is necessary, and the dog size ranges might be able to be adjusted. I should have paid more attention to the reviewer who stated these are bigger than expected because they are absolutely right and that was more helpful than the listed information on the website. The thick sticks are also just that... quite thick compared to other sticks we've ordered. I tried to fit a thinner Nature Gnaws chew stick into it, but it was too thin to hold tightly. I think that's due to the medium (large!) size. I would have rather ordered a small for now, then purchase a bigger one when/if she truly outgrows it. In any case, the bully buddy worked so well for what it is intended to do! She chewed and chewed and never loosened the stick. It left about an inch or so at the end that I'd rather throw away than have her choke on. As others have mentioned, the plastic teeth were slightly worn down with just one use and will likely be gone after a couple more. It would be great if the screw and teeth were updated to something more durable. I would still recommend the product for anyone who is looking for a way to keep their dog from inhaling large pieces of their bully sticks. While I hesitated on ordering for minute due to the price and possible need to only use the brand's sticks, it has turned out to be totally worth it for us.

What I like is they calm my 6mo. old Boxer. She gets a little wild at times so around 6pm. I give either a teething ring or the bully stick to her. I watch her constantly and let her chew it for about 20 or 30 minutes. She loves the bully stick and I love the holder. Without the holder there is no way I would let her have a bully stick. Thanks for a life saving (from a possible choking) product.

I’ve been on the hunt for a bully stick that lasts more than 5 minutes for my little man. The holder is a good design but wished the plastic was softer instead of hard plastic. That’s not that bad part though. The bully sticks are THE worst bully sticks ever. My dog seemed to enjoy it for about 5 minutes. Then, like most of his toys and chew things, this one found it’s way to my bed along with his wide assortment of toys. He seemed to be well entertained which made me happy. Unfortunately, 5 minutes into him chewing away I smell one of THE worse smells EVER. It was the bully stick! I had to throw it away..not just throw it away but take it outside to my large trash container. My dogs have had many different brands to bully sticks, treats, pigs ears etc. and I have never smelled anything this bad. I can’t Eve describe the disgusting smell that came from this stick. I can see why my dog stopped chewing on it. Luckily the bully stick holder can be used on other brands of sticks. Disappointed that I paid so much for the holder which was disappointing, a bag of sticks that nowhere near fills up the jar and then the bag of the worst sticks ever. If you love your dog as a family member do NOT buy this brand of sticks. So, $45 out the window and I’m still on the hunt for a good bully stick and holder. 🙁

I was very excited and hopeful. It does not hold the stick well. I got 2 and both lab and boxer had stick out in short order. Tried tightening again as tight as possible still after I few minutes bully stick was out. I had high hopes.

My dog is obsessed with bully sticks, but he chews half and swallows the other half...not safe. I saw a Rubydoobydo (may she rest in peace) video where she had one of these holders and knew my guy needed one. This thing is SUPER sturdy and VERY easy to use. My guy was super psyched to see the bully stick, tried to pick it up to chew it and noped out of there so fast. He will NOT chew his bully stick while it's held by this thing. I keep offering it to him and he'll try to pick up the stick, drop it, and walk off. I'm super bummed because this thing wasn't cheap and swallowing his bully sticks whole is a surgery waiting to happen. Oh well.

I can finally relax while my pup enjoys his bully stick!

Bow Wow Labs is amazing! I am so excited that they are on Amazon so I could get it from Canada. The bully stick holder is so durable and will last for a lifetime of dogs! The bully sticks are also my dogs favorite!! I would 200% recommend this product for anyone!! 😊
