Great watch. **Q: What size battery does it take** A: I can't remember what battery it takes but the battery lasts a long time. Its one of the thin button batteries. I love this stopwatch. My first one lasted about 5 years before the display went wonkey. In all that time I replaced the battery once. I purchased another identical stopwatch and its coming up on 7 years old and still going strong.
