If it's a water based paint, a gentle scrubbing with a kitchen sponge and water should work. Oil or solvent based? Don't even try. You'd destroy it with the caustic solvents and scrubbing required to re-emulsify the paint for removal. That being said - if you REALLY don't want project overspray, a piece of cardboard behind what you're spraying, or just holding a piece of cardboard in your hand and moving it around behind the thing you're spraying as you go will minimize overspray down to negligible levels. This thing should last a good, GOOD long time if you take that single minor precaution.
