No. Useful? Absolutely. Bought this because I started to realize with all the defect worries I hear about the Switch, every time mine becomes audible it's working extra hard and getting very heated.This alleviates the issue so you can play without worrying AS much. You will still feel heat from the heat sink but that's normal. The fans do their job perfectly.EDIT: Removing a star and going down to 3. A defect in one of the fans occasionally makes the motor catch and make a lot of noise while struggling to spin one of the fans which makes it extremely loud and sound like it's about to break. I've opened up the unit to see if there's an issue and nothing is present, meaning it's a wiring/power issue. I've let it go for quite a while but it's starting to bother me enough that I can't recommend this anymore and plan to find a different dock fan. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars I like it but it could be better *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2018* The fit of the fans to the Switch is great. I am okay with the length of the USB cable. The fan seems to push air to the Switch instead of drawing air away from the Switch - not sure that is the most effective way to keep the Switch cool. The one (real) gripe I have is that the fans do not have an auto on/off - you have to manually turn the fans on/off. Ordered this model instead and I must say I'm very impressed!It's a perfect snug fit when you plug it into the back of the switch. Air flow is surprisingly good considering it's size. You can hear it slighlty if your TV is on low but it doesn't take away from the entertainment whatsoever.
