A versatile back-saver at an extremely reasonable price. I have several large sweet gum trees in my yard. In the late winter and early spring they drop a large number of hard spikey round seed pods just slightly smaller than golf balls. The spikes make them hard to rake up and you definitely don't want to step on them which has left me with a lot of back-bending manual hand collecting each spring. The grabber has put an end to that and makes collecting them almost fun. It's very light and just the right length and is 100% effective (i.e. always gets the pods on the first grab with no subsequent dropping). I can see that this tool will be useful for other purposes around the house where things might be otherwise hard to get at. The folding feature might also be useful for someone to easily carry along in a wheel chair. This tool seems sturdy for use with light objects (don't think I would want to try picking up bricks) and can grasp items from a piece of paper to something the size of a drink can. I tried the magnet and it is pretty strong too. Wish I had bought something like this a long time ago.

Nice quality for this price. Like all "grabbers" the key to long use is no abuse. This one works well and I like the total design.

These are very sturdy and grip really well. It beats bending over to pick stuff up.

I use this grabber reacher tool to pickup trash on my daily walk, which takes me along a busy through street. The grabber is lightweight and easy to manipulate. I am able to easily pick up items ranging from cigarette butts, small pieces of paper, and aluminum cans, to large restaurant carryout food containers. (Yes, my neighbors are…uncaring.) I like that the grabber can be folded, but one of the clips to hold it open does occasionally come loose. It hasn’t happened while I was actually lifting something; and may happen because I tend to swing the grabber around as I’m walking. Again, I emphasize that the grabber is comfortable to hold and easily to manipulate. I barely have to break stride to snatch up even the smallest scraps of paper. The handle requires only slight pressure to hold objects in place, including a few heavy mystery items I have encountered. I’m pleased with the product and the price, only wish the clips held a little better.

I purchased this especially for my daughter to use after having brain surgery. Since she could not bend down I thought this might work. It picked items off of the floor, helped with her slippers and many other items. It worked well! It worked for getting light weight items from above her head as well. I am sure it will come in handy for many other uses.

I'm not sure how I lived without this for so long. Things fall behind the stove. I have to use broom handles to finagle it up a wall to grab. Not easy. THIS THOUGH! Well made, easy to use, folds for storage, got the job done in one try. A micro grater fell off the hook behind the stove. Bam, no problem retrieving it with this. I'm going to buy some for presents. It's that good. Buy it for those things you cannot reach.

This grabber has saved my life. After having surgery and not being able to bend down and pick up things I purchased the grabber and I was glad I did. It picks up heavier items also! The arms close enough to pick up smaller things also. Like the small stuffing peices of my dogs toys. I was also able to use it to turn off slide buttons on toys!

I'M UPDATING MY REVIEW. I was sent a new grabber and told to throw this grabber away, which I did. The new one worked OK, but it came too late (was recovering from surgery, so it wasn't around when I really needed it). I appreciated the company saying to throw it away. But apparently they didn't tell Amazon about this. Now, Amazon is saying it is going to charge me for the item because I didn't return it. It's telling me to print the label and return it or it is going to charge me. I was told to throw it away, and now Amazon is telling me that my return window is near. -- I tried for 15 minutes to find the chatbot, and from what I can tell from googling it, Amazon is hiding the "talk to a live agent" box as of the last month and I cannot find a way to get support with this. This is WAY too much work for a little grabber that broke. ------------------------------------- This worked great for 6 days, and then broke while picking up something that was not at all heavy. I tried all the troubleshooting options with it, and it appears that the internal mechanism broke as it will not stayed clasped. I really loved this thing, but not if it only lasts for a week. I'm giving it an extra star just because it was really cool, and maybe it was a dud, but seriously, not worth it.
