I had high hopes for backgammon as well but the stories, mini games, etc are falling short of teaching how to.play this game. The stories are too long, the explanations for moves don't make any sense. Etc. I watched a few youtube videos that demonstrate basic backgammon rules so that I can somehow relate the actual rules to the storytime pieces and teach him that way. This could have been a creative way to teach a classic board game but unfortunately the format falls short.
