Cost and operation.
Worked great on MCD shades. The motor was a little larger in length, but that made no difference.

Excellent replacement for home blinds
My home is 15 years old and has automated roller blinds. Last week one of the blinds failed and when I removed the motor in the tube is was cracked and no longer functional. I needed a hard wired 12v solution and I believe the 1.5" is your typical size for homes. The kit that came was perfect, installed easily. The instructions highlight programming and not assembly. I had to study the pictures on the Amazon posting to realize the one rubber sleeve needed to be installed to slide down next to the motor so it holds the motor in the larger tube. The other end (opposite end of the motor) takes the other rubber piece. Programming is possible if you do not have a hard switch, I did it with the automation system but was a bit tricky with the timing. Total time for installation was about an hour mostly spent on the programming to get it perfect stop points.

Excellent Product
I have purchased three of these roller motors and am very satisfied with them. For those that gave it a one star rating because it only moved about 12", you need to read the directions. These rollers have pre-programmed up and down limits, and the default "down" limit is set somewhere around 12". It was very simple to program them for the correct down limit for my shades. These motors operate on 12-volts DC and a simple DPDT switch controls their direction. I bought these so I could use the switches already in the control panel in our motor home to operate them. I did not want to keep track of yet another remote just for these blinds. Customer service is excellent as well. I had a problem with one order (wrong size roller inserts on the motor) and that was fixed with ONE email to Helen in customer service.

You can do this!
Was concerned about the whole install because the one that I removed from the windshield bond in my class A had three wires. Had to swap the rear drive bushing( easy) , connected the two wires to the motor home up and down switch and it worked like a charm.

Misleading pictures. Motor is only 20mm in diameter. But it works.
Seems ok. The motor is actually only 20 mm's in diameter which leads me to question its long-term durability. Programming instructions are horrid. Just replacing one piece of Chinese junk with another for the nightshade on a Thor Axis motor home.

Take accurate measurements of your old one
Rollerhouse has many replacement options. as long as you are accurate on your measurements, you'll get exactly the correct one. go for PRIME deliveries. My posted picture os my old top and NEW bottom.

Exact Duplicate of original w/1 exception.
This roller was exactly like the one I took out except the original was a 3 wire while this was only 2. Not a problem as long as you don't accidently put the shade all the way down while driving. The third wire tells the motor that the ignition key is on so you can't lower it all the way. Otherwise the motors were easy to install and work GREAT! The hard part was removing and installing the bracket that holds the shades. If you are not handy and in reasonably good shape, I would not recommend trying it yourself. If buying for a window (not the windshield), it should be no problem.

They worked kind of...
I have had 5 of these installed for 4 years now. 2 have now failed, and when I try to order additional none of them pair correctly not sure if they have changed. They just beep and do nothing.
