If you are adding your own seeds to the mixture, then you could, but if you want to reuse the device just to spread your own seeds, then I don't think they will stick to surfaces. This product did an ok job and grass did grow on some slopes where seeds wouldn't stick before, but the grass is not very "sturdy" and seems to not have deep roots. **Q: Is this just 1 considering on TV or as seen on TV same 100 sq ft product is almost 1/2 this price?** A: It's almost half the price until they charge you extra shipping. I purchased the double offer as on TV for $19.95 from the website. Many pages of "please buy more", and the web version of "but wait!", they added $7.95 shipping. "Because they care about the environment", we received what amounted to be the size of a quart Ziploc bag 3/4 full of seed. We prepped the area, loaded the sprayer according to the instructions and sprayed. Looked good but the green foam disappeared very quickly unlike professional products you see sprayed on the side of roads. We live in the Houston area so we had plenty of warm, humid weather and even a couple of day of rain 3 days after we applied the spray. After 10 days - NO results - NONE!!! Not a single blade of grass, nothing except a few clovers that managed to sprout.
