The outside was correctly assembled with a silicone washer against the glass, and then the spigot. So, in my case the spigot was assembled Nut, washer, convex metal trim/Glass/washer, spigot. In this configuration it will most likely leak, and if tightening the nut in attempt to seal it would then eventually crack the glass. It should be nut, convex metal trim, convex washer/glass/washer, spigot. The decanter itself looks pleasing, and the spigot is easy to open/close and doesn't leak or drip. Of course it will drip a bit after closing the spigot, but then stays dry. The cap has small air slots to allow the liquid to flow freely.
