A small flashlight with a useful and bright light beam.
I wasn't sure this was going to work for me, compared to the tactical light I was buying it to replace. However, it has worked out better then I imagined it. It is small, but it is mighty. The flashlight is about the width of my average size male palm. The light beam is sufficiently bright enough to clearly see about 100 feet or more in front of you, and it is easily adjusted up and down by quickly pressing the end button. So while not an tactical flashlight, it is useful for illuminating the area when walking the dog, lighting up a nighttime search, or finding that small dropped item that rolled under the dresser.

The BEST EDC light, beware battery is undersized for the light
I reviewed Lumintop's 650 lumen version of this light, the AA 2.0 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X3BMZXS), and there is not really anything different with this one except for the brightness increase to 900 lumens. So I'll briefly touch on the same things I did with the other. It's an *excellent* value, period. I bought these lights because I didn't want to be crying if I had left my expen$$$ive light(s) in the field while working, or just simply misplaced it somewhere. For the price of this light, sure it's not exactly "cheap" but it wouldn't be the same pain as if I had lost an $80+ light somewhere. It's a great quality light with an amazing feature set for the price- magnetic twisty tailcap, AND and clicky tailcap (non-magnetic) with LED power indicator, multiple brightness modes, removable pocket clip, and lanyard tie. The beam pattern is more spread than throw, but strikes a really nice balance for a light of this size. The color temp is more white than yellow but I have it to be absolutely fine.So here's the main thing you need to be mindful of though- since the included battery has a built-in USB-C charging port, the battery has less room for battery cells, and therefore not as much runtime (capacity) as a standard battery with no built-in charging port. Do NOT buy this light and expect to get hours of runtime on Turbo mode! It's simply not possible, physics and all that. I use my light generally on the first two brightness levels, and go weeks between battery charges. This is reasonable. But 900 lumens is a fairly decent power draw for a small battery, even one without the charging stuff built in. If you want a light that will run you for hours at higher lumen output, you need to get something with a substantially bigger battery. You should buy 2 or 3 of these just to stash everywhere- your EDC bag, glovebox, junk drawer in the house. It's an excellent light for the money and I highly recommend it.This light (and the 650-lumen version, here- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X3BMZXS)

There’s a lot to like here.
Replacing version 2 after five years, a 2.0 which I absolutely loved (gave it to one of our elderly single ladies at church) & used constantly. I’m impressed with 3.0. The specs you already know; I’ll speak to its performance.Toggling between modes is slightly slower, perhaps a second, & is taking a bit of getting used to in that regard. It also sometimes does not want to turn on unless you unscrew the end (disconnecting it from the battery) & tighten it on again. That seems to happen once every 12-15x it’s used & battery charge level doesn’t seem to affect its performance. The 3.0’s USB-C charger is a bit faster at replenishing the battery.I do appreciate the additional brightness mode; our house is in a wooded area & it makes a difference. It’s a brighter & whiter light (I prefer the whiter light). Throw on the 3.0 is farther & more focused than on my 2.0 as well, which helps. I remain impressed with the Lumintop & will continue to use it. I’m sure if I wasn’t so accustomed to the faster click-thru of the 2.0’s mode changes, I wouldn’t even notice the slight lag on the 3.0. I’m sure I’ll get used to it & won’t notice it after a while. It’s IP68-rated waterproof & I’ve dropped it more times than I like to remember. Never misses a beat. I like the diffuser for camping, nighttime reading, & tornado warning hunkering-down. Tough, versatile little light with terrific performance. There’s a lot to like here.

Incredible Tool
Another awesome light from a great company. Have many from Lumintop and have not been disappointed. When I do give lights to friends and family I only give them this brand. Super bright for the size. Does not throw as far as the previous version. Like that the battery has built in usbc charger. The button illuminates which makes it easy to find in the dark. Tough. Lightweight. Bright. Compact.

Classic now improved (a lttle)
Old school durability, brighter, further, slight increase in battery life. Tradeoffs? Lower CRI/higher color temperature. Black no longer standard. But the blue stands out- easier to locate and I need high output in a small form, not high color fidelity.Same classic profile and features- convertible to magnetic tail: big versatility plus! and more compact without push button on/off/light options- just two hand head twistSame light options- good to have but I stick with mid-brightness for 90% uses- never needed emergency strobe but?...and 900 lumens when you do need it out of the pocket sticking to your keys...Without question my most used and useful flashlight! Now if they can just make a head band for it- I did! (Cyrano would be proud :)

Nice light so far, with some reservations
Worth noting: The first one I purchased was a lemon- the clicky tailcap failed within 5 minutes of trying the light out. Thanks to Amazon's quick return process, I was able to get a replacement within a few days. This light came with a special 14500 lithium battery, which has a USB-C charger directly on the battery itself. This is handy for people who are new to lithium-powered lights, or who may not have a dedicated 14500 charger. The price you pay is less capacity in the battery yourself. If you have a dedicated 14500 charger, you can buy higher-capacity batteries from sites like illumn and get more runtime out of the light. If you do, be sure to only buy PROTECTED (button top) cells. This light will not take flat-top lithium batteries. The light modes are well-spaced, including a moonlight mode. The light remembers your last chosen mode. With the included 14500 battery it can throw some serious light... but you can also use any AA battery for more modest light levels.Pros:- The light was designed to be found in the dark. The rim around the reflector glows in the dark, as does the diffuser attachment. The clicky tailcap also has some RGB lights that glow continuously if a 14500 battery is used (more on that later)- Light modes are well-spaced, including a moonlight mode- Comes with a magnetic tailcap that converts the light to twist-head activation.Cons:- The clicky switch mode selection has a lag to it, which takes some getting used to. I had to tap the switch slowly and deliberately for it to change modes; if I tapped too fast it would stay at the same level.I have mixed feelings about the illuminated clicky tailcap. It's a nice feature for a campsite or a nightstand light, but completely wasteful for an EDC/pocket light. Basically if you run this light with the included 14500 battery and a clicky tail, you are committed to recharging the battery every ~4-6 weeks whether you use the light or not. To avoid the clicky tail's parasitic drain, your choices are: use the magnetic tailcap instead; use an AA battery; or twist the head or tail a little to lock the light out. You will have to decide if those trade-offs are a problem for you.Otherwise it seems like a nice light... but time will tell if the tailswitch parasitic drain drives me nuts or not.

The always on RGBW LED makes sense after all
I have a couple of these flashlights, including a AAA version. I have been really pleased with them. The diffuser -when placed on the back end - doubles as a bite-a-light (pictured) and I use it as such for hands free convenience all the time. The diffuser works great if you need light spread out and it also glows in the dark surprisingly brightly after you use it (pictured on and off). This latest version came bundled with a 920 mAh AA rechargeable battery. Utilizing that instead of a standard AA gets you brighter output with 3.7V, plus, an always on RGBW LED (pictured in 'red' state) under the rubber button. Originally, I found it absurd that you'd have a constant battery drain like the RGBW LED and I was disappointed, but over time I realized that this RGBW does not come on with a standard AA battery at 1.5V, and the feature can be disabled by unscrewing the front (light) end similar to what you'd do while using the magnetic back end that came with the flashlight. The RGBW is a clear indicator that you need to recharge since it is only active with the higher voltage of a fully charged 3.7V battery. I gave this light a bad review at first, but I have come around and now really appreciate this feature that I didn't previously understand. Lumintop should specify the intent of the RGBW in the product description and in the user manual to avoid people like me forming their own conclusions. But, I do love these lights, which I carry all the time as a tool and use several times daily - as I have been doing for many years. The latest one I bought has a green housing and it is absolutely splendid.

Excellent reliable EDC; not convinced by v3 over v2
The Lumintop Tool AA is an excellent little flashlight. I’ve carried one (the v2 version) in my pocket for several years and used it pretty much every day, and it has stood the test of time very well. The low and medium settings are fine for most purposes, while high and turbo give a serious amount of light when you really need it for a few minutes. The ability to run with AA as well as 14500 batteries is potentially very useful.I’m pleased with this v3 but I’m not sure it’s an improvement over the v2. The Osram P9 emitter is a little more efficient than the Cree XP-L HD in the v2, but the colour rendering isn’t great and the beam pattern is not as uniform. I think the claimed increase in distance has as much to do with the brighter centre spot as with the efficiency of the P9.With the clicky switch it tail-stands quite well. The supplied diffuser is a nice idea but indoors it’s easier just to point the beam at the ceiling. The magnetic tailcap makes the torch significantly shorter but means you have to twist it (or the head of the torch) to turn it off and on or change modes. In a pocket I suspect it would turn on too readily – and turbo mode could burn you!The strobe mode is pretty much useless, not least because you’d struggle to activate it in a real emergency. Thankfully it’s well hidden, so there’s little chance of turning it on by accident.I’ve never much liked the illuminated tailcap. It uses enough current (~0.5 mA) to drain the battery over a period of weeks, while not being bright enough to locate the torch if you drop it, say in long grass. It is bright enough to find in a tent or on a bedside table, if that’s your thing. My v2’s tail light was blue; the v3 has a red-green-blue colour-changing light show that irritated me enough that I got out the soldering iron and fixed it for good.
