I almost rented an SDS Max and 2" core bit from HD which would have been $157 for the four hour minimum. I own the SDS Plus 8 amp corded so I opted for trying this to save Ma money for her new water lines through 8" of 1960's concrete basement wall. I was drilling about 6' high from the inside out and my biggest concern was hitting rebar. That was the biggest concern until I started drilling. I did everything I could to mitigate hitting rebar using strong magnets, stud finders, measurements from known rebar locations, etc.. I calculated as best as I could and that part paid off because I didn't hit any rebar. However, I spent a total of about 30 minutes drill time getting it punched through because of the jokers who used inch and a half aggregate in the concrete mix. The bit did its job and still looks really good for what I expected. The bigger aggregate made me work harder and when I wasn't fighting getting through a mini-boulder it made dust and would eat almost an inch a minute. I only had 3 mini-boulders and 2 were at the same time which is what really slowed the progress. The bit slowed down on the larger rocks and I had to be patient and let it cut its way through, but it still cut smooth even when it was gnawing its way through them. I was expecting to affirm or deny its ability to handle rebar, but fortunately I was unable to provide such information. Overall pleasantly surprised and happy with the price and quality. Saved $$ and time overall. Plus, I now own a 2 inch core bit if I ever need one again.

Worked great. Held up well to 100+ year old 4 brick thick walls x2 holes with the 2 3/4” bit. I initially used an older Bosch SDS Hammer drill with the hammer setting off (as is nicely written on a sticker on the side of the new bit to remind you). That clutched drill ended up not working as well as a cheap standard 1/2” hammer drill from Far From Great Harbor Freight (also with hammer mode off) which did not have a clutch. Found it very nice that this core bit included both SDS and standard drill attachments! Be prepared to feather the trigger because it does bind up occasionally and you could be in for a black eye if you’re not careful and it gets away from you! I even hit the corner of a steel I beam at one point and had to adjust my hole by about 1” to avoid hitting it. Despite the metal I beam and the old and very hard brick, each 12” deep hole only required about 5-10 minutes of actual drilling. I allowed a bit of time every few minutes for my HF drill to cool down. Even with hitting metal, the teeth/diamonds still look great and clearly have more life in them! Everyone said to use the 2 3/4” bit for mini split line set (1/4” and 3/8” lines from Della), but I could’ve easily fit them thru 2 1/2” or probably even 2 1/4” hole… I used a small piece of 1/2” plywood with a similar sized hole cut in it that I pressed by hand against the brick to guide my core bit in order to get the hole started about 1/4” deep after which I then removed the plywood… worked great to keep the bit from wandering. As long and heavy as this bit plus a rotary drill is on a ladder, I had a very hard time starting the hole accurately without the plywood centering guide, even trying at an angle like the instruction sheet says. Also, once started, I used the HERCULES Hammer Drilling Universal Dust Collection Attachment from HF with a small shop vac to collect a lot of the dust and it worked well even tho it said only for bits 2 5/8” max… I removed the brushed baffles by clicking it out and 2 3/4” core bit fit like a glove! Good luck! If you need to drill a big hole in masonry, go for it. This bit worked great for me! Wear your eye, ear, and dust protection!

This drill bit worked like a charm. Cut through my brick just as advertised. When I got to the wood, I hadn't thought it through, that I would need a different bit. I pushed and fought it but finally it cut through the thick wood as well. Obviously, the bit isn't designed to cut through the wood but I made it work and it made a nice channel for my duct vent to pass. I was quoted $300 by a contractor to cut out this hole. So, I saved $235 by DIY. Very happy with the results!

This worked very well with my Bosch sds plus hammer drill going through brick. The only drawback is there isn't a center pilot bit to keep it stable. I was able to drill from the inside of my house because I could keep it stable with a block, but trying it while standing outside on a ladder it was impossible to use.

Tough and effective core drill bit. I needed to core two 2” holes through my foundation. This bit did the job easily- through 10” of concrete and multiple rebars. Cuts through the concrete like butter. Slows at the rebar but cuts that too. I’m extremely impressed with this bit. Half the cost of renting a core machine (which I’ve done in the past - but it wasn’t this easy).

Drilled a 5” hole in my poolside concrete to install an anchor for a pool basketball goal. This drill did an amazing job. I took my time and used a hose to wash and cool the concrete while I drilled. It took about 30 minutes. DO NOT USE THE HAMMER FUNCTION. Core drill bits with diamond cutting edge cannot be used with the hammer function. It chips off the diamond dust. You can only do that with the hardened alloy core drills.

Bought this to bore a hole for computer wires in a concrete countertop. I was skeptical when I got it but the price was right and only really needed it once. I was thoroughly impressed. It took and little setup to hold it in place to start the hole but after that this thing quickly cut the about three inches of concrete. It was simple but well cut the hole quickly and no noticeable wear after my project. I kept the packageling and will keep this on the shelf for future needs.

Llego en tiempo y forma, gracias. Por primera vez uso esta herramienta (SALI - Broca saca bocado de diamante SDS de 1 pulgada de diámetro x 10 pulgadas de largo) y debo admitir que al principio me vi como un principiante... de hecho lo soy. Pero al recordar algunos videos, donde recomiendan como usarla, al final, fue pan comido. La estrené junto con un rotomartillo SDS que compre aquí en Amazon. Desde luego hay brocas de mas calidad pero, SALI funciono tal como lo esperaba.
