Flexcut Carving Tools

I do caricature wood carvings and these micro tools are wonderful. Sharp right out of the box and hold an edge really well. Micro and full size Flexcut tools.....I use them all the time. They are not just for beginners.

Very sharp right out of package and very comfortable to handel. I use them in wooden model ship building and highly recommend them.

Be Aware: The cutting edge is on top of the dog leg of these chisels. Most, if not all, other chisels have the cutting edge on the bottom of the dog leg so you can cut or true a flat plane. I bought these for precision work on guitar fret boards and nut slots. Maybe it's a carving thing, but the angle on these is all wrong for my purpose.Four stars because these are high quality USA made hand tools. Minus one star because the cutting edge is on the wrong side of the dog leg (for me).

The bevel is down instead of up. Makes no sense to have a dog leg chisel with this design. If you want bevel down any chisel would do. Don't buy.

Handles could be bigger but fantastic blades

Have many different Flexcut tools and for the most part they are excellent. My "beef" with these chisels is the black coating they put on the unpolished part of the bottom surfaces. When first using them the black material rubs off into the wood. It is no problem to remove it but it is an unexpected result when using a nice tool from an obviously focused company.
