Does the job of converting the valve for use with Drayton wiser controller.

I bought some Eqiva digital radiator valve thermostats at a good price only to find that our radiator thermostat valve screw threads are the older 28mm thread rather than the more modern 30mm thread required and thus I needed an adaptor in order to fit a modern thermostat. All these these type of adaptors are a daft price for what they are (even crude moulded plastic ones) and ended up costing more than the digital TRV I needed to adapt (beware a bargain bought in ignorance) but I took a chance on this & after seeing a German reviewer who purchased one for exactly the same requirement. This is one that Amazon UK sources from Germany (hence the majority of reviews in German). It is of a very solid, weighty, all metal construction and the pin is long enough for the digital thermostat to open and close the radiator valve as needed(no penny needed to bridge the gap as some have needed on rival products) so despite my bargain thermostat purchase needing this additional outlay (best laid plans etc) I can recommend this as the quickest way to upgrade your 28mm TRV screw threads to 30mm screw threads outside of just upgrading your entire radiator.

Did the job well, allowing me to fit a Hive rad valve to my older sized radiator. Still going strong a year on.

I need to change my old radiator thermostat by a new programmable thermostat (28 to 30 mm) , this item is exectely what I must have !!!

What's not to love?

Having read some of the positive reviews, particularly about using with Eqiva TRVs, I ordered 3 of these from Amazon.de - much cheaper than ordering from Amazon in the UK. They fit the TRV just fine; unfortunately the thread inside the adapter isn't long/deep enough to enable a secure fit to the thread on the radiator. As soon as I tightened the TRV onto the adapter it fell off the radiator. It look as if my only option is to update the valves to M30's.

Easy fit, allowing older M28 TRV heads to be replaced with M30 smart heads. Solidly made, so far, so good.
