Review: The joirnal has been perfect for her needs so far - I got this for my 14year old. It is intemded for younger but with the intensity of puberty and hormonal changes happening this was an attempt to help her understand herself more. Journal writing has worked well until now. But this guides them to discover the specifics of feelings by excercises they can do for themselves. We have always beem able to doscuss ossues together but in the growong need of a teenager to find independance from their parents I npticed a readiness for her to take this on and sit down to each day independently to fill out the pages. There is a book to go with this journal. I have not seen it yet . The joirnal has been perfect for her needs so far Review: Really useful book to help tweens get their heads round their emotions and moods. - I bought this for my 10yr old so she could make a note of how she feels and how she reacts in certain situations. It is a really well devised book with tips on handling jealousy, anger, happiness and a whole gamut of other emotions and there is also space to note down feelings / work out how your child reacts emotionally. My daughter prefers to do this on her own and in her own time, but I guess you could fill it in with your daughter if she was willing!

Great, highly recommended!
I bought this after my 9 year old daughter read the Feelings Book. Both are excellent and she loved reading them and filling in the quizzes and questions. It was kept private from me and she has really learnt a lot about herself and her emotions and how to deal and understand them. Brilliant book.

Good product
I liked this product as a helpful way to explore feelings with my daughter. It's not too serious or worrying in any way and is a gentle helpful book tailored to sensitively explore feelings. Perfect as my daughter has recently started a new school and would be positive for any children experiencing changes in their life or could also be useful to talk about bullying & build confidence / well being

Excellent. Really helps.
Great little book! My daughter was really struggling with her emotions and I was at a loss about ways to help her without stopping her from learning coping strategies. She has the sister book to this that explains feelings and this is the perfect companion. She gets to solve her issues herself and is able to bring it to me, or we work together on it to help her. She's just turned 8 which I think is probably around the right age to start looking at the books.

Nice conversation starter
A useful book although a bit to basic for an early teen. It addresses all main areas but i think my 10 year-old expected something more elaborate.

Feelings journal
My 'tweenager' loves this journal and the majority of the American girl series of books. It has helped her to understand and explore her emotions.

As soon as this journal arrived with our other books, my 9 year old daughter was instantly drawn to The Feelings Book and the Feelings Book Journal. She loves to write in the journal every evening before bedtime. It is perfect for her age level and I highly recommend it as a great companion item to The Feelings Book. The journal has fun, easy topics which guide my daughter in thinking about herself, her friendships, and her feelings about things. We have had some good conversations about both the book and the journal. I am very happy with it.

My daughter loves this and has already filled out a large portion of it. We plan on getting more from this series going forward.

We give this to kids aged about 8+ yrs old and we have found it super helpful. Seems to be the age they start having more emotions and asking about borrowing Mommy's "colored chapstick". Easy to read, use, and understand for young kids all the way to teenagers. You learn "emotion regulation" AKA is this really the end of the world or does it just feel that way? The books in this series have gone so well like "Book about You" that we donate many to our state every year for social workers and social services to hand out to kids.
