Dad, Who Will I Be? [Taylor, G Todd, Robbins, Delayna] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Dad, Who Will I Be? Review: Excellent book, fantastic depiction of brown boys and fathers; great kindergarten graduation book - This book (May 2018) doesn't have the misspellings mentioned by a prior review, but the font is still challenging to read and I think the book would be so much better in a font that is easier to read for kids. Also, our cover and inside first spread lack color, so I think there may have been an issue with this printing. I'll take lack of color in the dreams versus misspelled words. We bought this as a gift for my son when he graduated from kindergarten, and even with the font issue we would absolutely buy it again because it's a great book depicting a young black boy dreaming about his future. It depicts a great role model in the father and teaches about famous (and not so famous) people with brown skin. While this is great for my son (with brown skin), it's equally important for other kids who aren't black to read it and understand about the contributions of the people profiled in this book. At the end of the book, there is a picture of each person with a few comments about each person in the book. Review: Love this book! FYI-No misspelled words - I love this book! A previous review said there were two misspelled words in the book but that isn’t the case. Maybe that person had an old copy, I don’t know. This is a great book for any child but of course I love the positivity around the father-son theme and celebrating that relationship especially for people of color. I found the blurbs in the back of the book helpful as not everyone knows who these iconic figures in black history are and it gives us an opportunity to educate our children. I bought multiple copies so I can give it out to my family members’ kids. I highly recommend this book!!

Wonderful, very very well done. Even i learned new things.
Very nice, gives one page to each of the examples of successful black men. Nice variety and book moves quickly for kids who are not Art work was a little less than stellar, not my style of art, but, wonderful book. In the back of the book, there is an EXCELLENT little primer, which i think is for the reading parent to read first, or to refer to with the child, to learn more about each man described. So the book itself, has a fairly short page about each man, but, in the back of book--- there is a paragraph with details on each man, that you can discuss with your child, or read to your child, or paraphrase for your child, depending on your child's age. Even i learned new things. This book would be wonderful for age 4 to age ...8 or 9? Very cool book. We need more positive books like this for little ones.

Loved the Father's guidance and encouragement given to his son
Very cute! Loved the Father's guidance and encouragement given to his son... I must say the only slight disappointment was my own snap judgement... thinking my son would learn about Malcolm X based upon the frame and gear depicted on the cover of this book... only my own error but wanted to share in case any parent may assume the same lol *SPOILER*[Unfortunately, there is no mention of the powerful purposeful Leader- Ej Hajj Malik El Shabbazz {MalcolmX}]

My son likes it!
If my son likes it, then I love it. My son is 4. Anyone with a 4 year old knows their attention span is nonexistent. Well, when I start reading this book, he actually sits still and listens. He enjoys it and tries to read it with me. The pictures are cute and the story itself is good for little boys read/hear. Dad, who will I be? Son, you can be ANYTHING!!! LOVE IT!

Fun to read with cool facts in the back
We read this in my classroom several times during our "super" hero unit. At the end of the book there are little blurbs about all the men mentioned in the book. My kids loved it!

Good book but...
My 5 year old isn't as drawn to it as I had hoped, but I like the message.

Must buy!
I bought this book for my 4 year old toddler. We throughly enjoyed the book. Very inspiring for a young boy of color to see a book about so many educated and brave people of color making a difference in the world we live in. I plan on buying a few more of these for my friends kids as well. Great book!
