Vitax 2.5Kg Compost Maker

VITAX 6CM253 Compost Maker is easy to use and really helps speed up the composting process. Just sprinkle it in and it gets to work quickly. A 2.5 kg tub goes a long way. Great for keeping the compost heap healthy and active.

Product is probably really good. BUT the box it arrived in was slightly damaged and half the contents were missing. A fine powder in a cardboard box with no plastic liner, ridiculous packaging.

2.5Kg box ordered. Arrived in a cardboard box, well glued shut. On opening, it appeared to be just under half full! I transferred it all into a re-used OXO plastic gravy tub, so as to keep it dry, and when I weighed the tub + contents, it was 2.7Kg, so I was not disappointed. I suspect the box size related more to the copious instructions and warnings printed on it, rather than the volume of the contents.

I paid £10.22 for this, 3 days later it is down to under £9 - typical! The box looks big, but half of it is air. Perhaps they should consider reducing the box size and keeping the price low. It will be some time before I know how effective it is. That said, will I ever really know? I have no idea how long it would normally take for the garden waste to compost. Now there's a thought.
