This isn't for a chip key setup, so check that first. This saved my son-in-law $1,000.00 on his 2017 Sonata when the ignition lock cylinder froze up. Also comes with door and trunk cylinders if you want to only have one key.

My second time purchasing it as the first one failed after a year. I believe it failed because I had a heavy set of key rings attached and I wasn’t very gentle with it. It eventually got stuck on ACC mode one day and I had to use my shift lock release tab to put it in park and release the key or else my car didn’t turn off. The inside of the lock gets shavings eventually so just be gentle. Buy graphite lubricant.

Perfect. This lock cylinder set worked to solve my issue in this hyundai sonata. When I bought the car I only received one key and no key fob. Little did I know by locking my door I would get locked out. Once I got into the car the security system when off and what a pain that was to deal with. I decided to change out the lock cylinders amd this set did the trick. Definitely a problem solver for me amd highly recommend this set 👌

In Canada, all the Sonata's had a chipped key whereas in the USA they did not. This kit would work perfect in a US car but here in Canada the ignition will turn over but car will not fire as it does not recognize the key. I have a $2000 scan tool and it wouldn't program the ignition so I went to a friend who is a auto locksmith and he explained the above. As I bought this kit to re-key a used 2012 Sonata (trunk and door locks worked perfect, BTW) the solution was swap the new lock cylinder into the old ignition module then cut new chipped keys to match. Cost $150 but now I have 2 keys that open the trunk, door and start the car.
