This fragrance is Maison Alhambra's duplicate of Lalique's Encre Noir. It is very close to the OG scent in my opinion, even though the "notes" listed don't make them seem like the same family of fragrance. This is a woody/cedar-y cologne but without the sweetness that comes with Oud. Think of it as a dry white wine compared to the Oaky sweetness of a Chardonnay. Like the smell of sawdust on the wood shop floor. I don't get leather from the fragrance, but I see why folks might say that. At the moment, Anchor Black is around the same price as Encre Noir on the discount perfume sites, but about $10 cheaper per bottle if purchased through Amazon. Either is a great deal in terms of a minimalist fragrance. But to get the value of a ":great deal" you have to like the underlying concept. In this case it isn't a super noisy/busy frag. Perfect for me though. Five stars

Awesome scent. A couple of sprays right after a shower and your set for the day. Very long lasting scent. I've received alot of compliments. Strong without being overbearing.

Smells great. Performance on my skin is not that good. Maybe 5 hours max. Performs really well on clothes, 12 hrs +

Not a good smell
Someone in the other comment said it smells like RAID and I could not put my finger on the smell until I read it. Smells like that or some kind of car oil. Not a good smell and not worth the price.

Great Aroma Without Much Staying Power
It smells fantastic. Earthy and warm. It just doesn't last for more than an hour or project. I'd happily wear it at the office or to dinner, if it had any staying power. If it matures in a month or so, I'll make an edit to the review. The price is good, but not good enough

Outstanding fragrance for those into earthy petrichor.
The negative reviews are people who blind bought this without doing any research. This is a dupe/clone of Lalique Encre Noir. It has a very niche scent profile that’s not for everyone. If that’s your bag though, this is killer.
