I purchased G4 cool white bulbs they fit and light but are too long which mrans i cant replace glass do you sell smaller G4 for doenlights?

We sell 400K LED G4s which fit these fittings.

I am looking to replace what i think is a 'halogen' version similar to the above bulb. how can i tell if the unit i am replacing is led or halogen?

If you look at the bulbs and they are clear and can see through the lamp it's likely a halogen. If you can see modules or chips it's most likely an LED. You will need to check whether you have an LED driver connected or halogen transformer and if you are changing technologies you will need to update the transformer as well. do the units come with bulbs provided?

The lamp comes complete with bulbs as well as wiring with new connector. They’re really easy to fit simply unplug the old lamp and plug in the new one although if you’re not confident to an electrician this would be a simple task.

A perfect replacement for a Roper Rhodes vanity unit.

Roper Rhodes couldn't help with a replacement for my aged but still in good nick Valencia mirror unit when one of the lights failed completely. Over the years, they've manage to offer replacements when needed and I'd swapped all six of the chrome edged lights to the newer white rimmed ones. Now that they can no longer provide replacements I've had to search elsewhere and am delighted to have found these. They fit fine and the length of wiring is more than adequate to reach all the existing connections. However, they're chrome so I'm back to replacing all of them to match. Good thing that they're easy to do and not eye wateringly expensive. I managed to swap the first one in about 15 minutes from getting out the ladder and I'm a little old lady of 70 so I reckon anyone could do it.

Returned no fault with product too modern

Returned item as modern downlighter 7.3 cms diameter but existing old downlightets are 8pms diameters so unfortunately not able to use no fault of product

A good product

Bought as a replacement. Tried to fit it in the existing hole, but the spring grip was not effective. On squeezing the springs, I found that one of them was too long and was hitting the edge of the lamp, preventing it from retracting enough to be effective, so - out with the pliers and bent it up. Now it holds reasonably well. The stainless-steel finish is better than the plastic on its predecessor - but I am not sure how to change the bulb if it fails. Update on 25/3/25: the bulb failed - to be expected. Swopping it is easy. The ring holding the glass cover can easily be prized out with a screwdriver. This is really a good product!
