Timberland Men's Earthkeeper 6 Laceup Boot

I've had these for about a month now. They are my very first pair of leather boots ever and I love them. I wanted one boot that I could wear for winter, hiking, and just because, and these fit the bill. They look really good and have held up well through several hikes of about five or six miles each. A couple of the hikes the weather was pretty wet and no moisture got in. Of course, the tongue is loose, so I'm sure stepping in a deep puddle or hanging out in a constant downpour will allow some water in. They are also quite comfortable. I even wore them for about 19 hours straight walking all over Munich, Germany. My feet were sore, of course, but not as sore as they've been after a day in my usual low-profile trainers. The sizing, like everyone else says, is pretty large. I wear an eleven normally, but I went with a 10.5. Everyone said to go a size down, but my foot is a bit wide, so I thought I'd see how half a size went. Turns out I probably could have done with a size down, and maybe even a size and a half if I wanted a snug fit. But these were partly meant for hiking and for hiking you want your boots to fit just a bit large so you have plenty of toe room, so I've decided to stay with the 10.5, though if/when I buy another pair I might go down to 10. I got them in burnished brown, which ended up being a dark reddish brown, which I actually prefer. They were pretty much broken in and ready to wear right away, but have actually broken in even more. The leather is supple and comfortable. I've read some reviews saying that the sole wears out quickly, but that they would be happy to re-sole them. I haven't noticed any such wear yet, but if the boots last as long as I imagine they will, I'll be happy to re-sole them whenever. And I've never re-soled ANYTHING. TL;DR, If you're looking for a good boot for light hikes that can also be worn on a night out on the town, look no further. Just go a size down.

I'm on my second pair of these. The first pair I wore for 4 years and they're still in great shape. I had them resoled once, but the leather, stitching, eyelets, and the rest have all held up very well. I just bought a second pair because the first pair I sealed with a wax and the leather got MUCH darker, and I didn't like the look. Pros: 1) Nice balance of dressy and casual 2) Well-constructed 3) not too heavy 4) extremely comfortable due to the leather not being very thick and the soles being very pliable 5) can be resoled 6) fairly priced 7) insoles can be removed Cons: 1) soles are very soft, which means you'll have to replace them fairly quickly. 2) Wish they came in more colors. 3) Tongue isn't lined (although the rest of the boot is). Really not a big deal.

These boots are about the only thing I wear 6 months of the year. They are incredibly comfortable. The lining is soft, and seems to wick sweat away better than regular boots. I wear them to work (just office work) and about everywhere else. I would consider them casual wear, as opposed to work or hiking wear. The upper is well put together, with stitching that holds up well, and even the laces are intact after 3 years. The only downside is that the soles do wear out faster than the uppers. I suppose this is a side effect of the recycled material, so I'll take it as a trade off. I am going to try and resole them this year, but if that doesn't work out, I will definitely buy another pair. These are too good to be without. UPDATE - 12-25-2014: Just had them re-soled after 4 years. I've read elsewhere that it isn't possible because the soles were rubbery, but I just brought them in to the local shoe repair place "John's Shoe Repair" if you happen to be in San Diego. Great job. The color of the new sole is darker. We looked at everything he had in stock, and only a few had heals that matched, so I picked the closest option. The upper still look great, and I'm looking forward to another 4 years. I can't load another video here, but I'll post one for you on the tube ;-) UPDATE - 11-20-2019: Survived to second resole. Was able to get a Vibram sole this time. Upper still looks great. Started taking care of the leather better with conditioner after my last resole.

Nice overall boot, comfortable and no break-in needed. Size runs big. I typically wear an 8.5-9, I ordered an 8.5 and it's a bit large (extra room in toe-box area, wearing thicker socks helps), but not enough to return/exchange. An 8 probably would have been better, for a snug fit. If they were true to size, which would make ordering easier, I would give it a 5-star.

These boots are supremely comfortable and waterproof (they also look fantastic). I have a number of pairs of these and wear them on a daily basis. The boots aren't insulated (which I like), but offer room for thicker socks when it gets cold. The soles of these boots wear down very quickly (especially the forefoot). I understand wear patterns will be different for all people, but most of my shoes wear evenly and pretty slowly. Within 5 months of regular use, I wear through the forefoot of these boots. That said, the uppers of the boot are very rugged and durable and (after a number of years of use) don't show any signs of wearing out in my lifetime. These boots can be resoled quite easily by any shoe repair place. After putting a nice heavy-duty Vibram sole on, the boots are pretty much bulletproof and will last forever. I'm not the type of person who typically will deal with things like having a boot resoled, but these things are so good, it's worth it. Even with the hassle and expense of resoling, I still give these a solid 5 star rating - that should tell you what you need to know!

Order the right size! I thought they were too big at first (as others said), but the right solution is to put in an extra arched insert over the stock one, then they are PERFECT. A smaller size would be short. I have a 10W Timber boot from 10 years ago, they fit the exact same, with an insert. I get a LOT of compliments for this boot. I polished them with the Doc's Mink Oil, they got much darker and softer. They are by far my favorite boots. I wore Docs for 35 years, will never give them a penny again, cheap and woke.

(scroll to the bottom for width sizes) I saw these boots at my local retailer, loved them at first sight and tried them on. I regularly wear a size 12 but they were big. Great fit was at an 11.5 wide i think but they didn't have a wide, just a narrow. If it weren't for that I would have happily coughed up the $180 or $190. But i still was trying to convince myself to take them home. So i begged and cried to my wife from my mens department to please come look at my new boots. So after some continuing embarrasement she finally left her womens shoe department and gave me some much needed attention. Even my wife said they would look good with jeans and khakis and agreed they were pricey but justifiable solely on their good looks. And oh they are timberlands she said, that's nice. I didn't care if they were Payless shoe boots they looked awesome, rugged and sophisticated. Perfect for me! Although I have to add Timberlands are quite comfy and lasting because I'ved owned (2) pairs of PRO Tiatans for but busting activities like hiking and kicking hot pipes at the oil refinery. My first pair fell victim to sulfuric acid dripping on the top, but they saved my foot! With that said, I had to have them. She told me why not try another store or even amazon like you always do. Oh yeah, she's a genius! Went on amazon on my mobile and wow they are so cheap! My wife saw that and zipped away to buy now 2 extra pair of shoes. But amazon had different colors and many sizes. No problem I had a Brannock device right next to me ( the metal foot ruler thing-a-magig with sliders and stuff to measure proper shoe sizes). So I played around with the device and used my fat foot ( most people will not have symmetrical perfectly feet, weird I know but true). But my left had been broken in half and now was permanently pregnant, so I knew I needed wide, but how wide? So here are my research findings after fiddling around with the Bannock device with both feet. Fit size Get at least 1/2 size smaller in length and standard or slightly wider size (C or D) and maybe even a whole 1 size smaller but if you do get a wide shoe. the letter designations are different widths. But they differ slightly with different shoe sizes. D is standard width for a given shoe size. I think the increments are in 1/8" or 3/16" according to my ruler on my pocket knife. AAA = Super Slim AA = Extra Slim (the more A's the more Extra) A = Slim B = Narrow C = Less standard width almost narrow D = Standard Width / Medium E = Wide EE = Extra Wide EEE = Fat EEEE = Super Fat Anyway I usually get a 12 standard (D) but I bought 11.5 E. My left foot was easily a EE but I didn't want him to look at a mirror next to the right and feel bad. These boots also saved my high water pant problem when commuting to the office on the motorcycle. The lace height easily covers my sexy ankles and saves countless women from distraction while driving. The short height of the toes make them almost pass for casual brown shoes. I now pair these boots with my chinos and my engineer issued plaid shirts to wreck havock on the office women and keep them from being productive.

I heard a lot of people talking about these boots running a size too big. Well, if you're a person with big feet like me it's just the opposite. I have size 13 wide width feet. I ordered 13 wide and they still aren't wide enough. However, the length is correct. Unfortunately there is no XX wide option in these boots. That being said, I decided to keep them, ordered longer laces, and wear them a bit wider at the tongue and they've worked out okay. My foot does spill over the sole slightly though on both sides of the boot. Another thing to note is that the stitching on the tongue and on the heel loops is not adequate. I've already torn 4 stitches out of the tongue and the heel loop broke on the 2nd day of owning them. I'm having to take them to a local cobbler to have them stitched restitched with a thicker thread. All that being said, the rest of the boot seems to be good quality. They are comfortable and look nice. You just need to be aware that if you have big or wide feet that the wide may still be too narrow, and don't pull on the tongue or heel loop when putting them in. Use a shoe horn or loosen the laces fully.

Absolutely great shoes, nothing can beat Timberland quality.

pas portées parce que pas la bonne taille et mon mari est difficile : il les a trouvées délicates à chausser (mais je pense que c'est parce qu'il n'a pas l'habitude des chaussures montantes, à délasser forcément un peu ! et elles étaient neuves, donc') mais elles sont superbes, vraiment, très très jolies. un cuir d'une couleur parfaite, une ligne parfaite également, bref, elles me font craquer ! super stylées (encore plus en vrai qu'en photo)

de vrais boots adaptés aussi bien pour la vie urbaine que pour la campagne. résident à l'eau, ne font pas massif, un cuir agréable, et un très grand confort. toute la qualité timberland
