At this price it must be rubbish - WRONG, WRONG, WRONG !!!!
I needed to replace the old telly in the guest bedroom and started my search. Didn't want to spend a fortune but had in mind a 32 inch for nax. £300. The TCL telly intrigued me. How could they do it at this price - delivered??? The spec. looked impressive, comments were good., so I thought about it for a day or two and so, given I could return it easily if needed. I placed my Prime order. My friendly courier rocked-up nest day, as scheduled with the box. He handed it to me and I was stunned by the lack of weight. Careful unpacking, attaching the feet and plugging-in took about 20 minutes. Powered-up nicely and I then began the set-up. n.b. there's no co-ax port for your TV aerial because you don't nned it any more!! It's all very intuitive but you'll need your little book of logins and passwords to access your home Wi-fi and then the individual apps on the screen. Once logged in, they just work. In Summary: It's a great peiece of kit, the new functionality (way of accessing TV content) may do your head-in for a day or two. That soon passes though.. Sound and Picture quality are both great. Perfect for a bedroom or kitchen SUMMARY: I'm a believer - friends and family love it too. Extraordinary value for money. JUST BUY ONE.

good quality for the features
TCL 32SF540K 32-inch FHD Smart Television I bought this TV while it was on offer. This was budget friendly and it didn't need to have any type of high specs but being a Smart TV just made things a little better when using some online subscription APPs. Unlike most 32inch TV's on the market that only offered 720p resolution this offers 1080p resolution and the picture quality i felt for the price i paid was good its sharp and detailed. This does support HDR however, at this price point i would stress its probably something that your not going to notice you would possible on high spec TV though with a larger screen size. Some colours can feel a little washed out however, for the most part the black where reasonable, shadows details were ok along with the natural colours. Its not the brightest of screens though but it is well balanced and better than the TV it replaces. This does have the Fire TV OS so runs all the amazon features while also providing access to other platforms like BBC player, Disney, Netflix etc. The interface is pretty easy to navigate through and i would say this is pretty user friendly. The controller is pretty much a Fire stick remote so if you have ever used one you will be familiar with the operations of the controls. So Alexa voice control are included. Build quality was actually decent i was impressed with how thin the bezels were its more aesthetics pleasing however, visual experience its nice to see a screen without thick bezels. It does i felt make the TV look a little smaller in footprint in comparison to others which is nice if your looking for space efficiency. Otherwise the build is pretty much what i would expect its similar to all TV on the market nowadays with the plastics. The legs stands i would say i had no issues with and the TV is stable yet you can wall mount this if its more convenient. Sound quality i felt could have been better there built-in however, in a bedroom i would say there adequate you do need to turn it up slightly more than normal. Less immersive experience if your watching a movie. Overall for what i paid for the TV which was just over £100 this i felt offered good value for its features and quality of the image. Yes the sound could have been better yet for a small room it may not be so much of an issue.

Great TV that actually operates as a media centre
Used this to replace an old 22 inch monitor for PC. I'm a bog standard PC user - not a single pixel design guy, so just need a nice big display. Decided a TV was the way to go - - so went for the 32inch model - as that gave me everything I needed in my home office. I set it up - attached to a KVM - and receive crystal clear PC display at 1920 x 1080, used the Freely app and get seamless transition to Live TV across both the internet delivered (BBC, ITV, C4 and 5) as well as over the air for the rest. Fire TV provides the option of all the apps you need for TV reception, and lastly installed Kodi to stream from home storage. The functionality in this TV - for the money you pay - is simply off the chart. QLED quantum dot works a treat, freely is better than I expected for live tv, kodi (as a client) plays everything I throw at it, and the PC output works spot on. The add-on of being a FireTV means I also get access to Prime and Netflix (as well as Disney+, Paramount+, Sky Sports etc. apps as well) if I want. So picture wise - great presentation with the QLED setup. Sound wise - as you would expect, perfectly happy for home office but not for living room (but we all know pair with a soundbar and all good). Speed wise - nice and snappy with the combination of FireTV interface and Freely interface. No doubt about it - this has become a fully fledged media centre, as well as PC output - and all for £130. TCL and HiSense are really showing how much bang for buck you can get if you ignore the big boy hype. Yes its not OLED, it will not suit a home cinema etc etc. but if you just want a really good TV with loads of bells and whistles - I would not look past this one.

Bad compatability with Majority Snowdon II soundbar and remote.
The vesa 100x100 mounting holes are quite low on the back of the TV so bare that in mind if you're buying this to replace a much older tv which might have a larger format vesa mounting system that is high up on your existing tv, the mounting holes have a raised lip and cause mounting arms not to sit flat so it's easy for them to shift and sit offcentre thus it's a bad design for those with tilting mount arms for a wall mounted rail, it won't affect a mounting plate however yet this means a bit of faff with you being required to test fit the mount to make sure the tv sits straight and isn't lifting to one side. The lightweight design is very nice so mounting it to a wall rail is easy, the screen is incredibly bright and the speakers are ok but not the best quality, the wifi connectivity seems to be pretty good but I will be wiring in a ethernet cable for a more solid connection with wifi being a backup. I have a Majority Snowdon II soundbar and the remote interferes with this smart tv - Button presses on the soundbar remote correlate with the action from the soundbar and also mirror a channel number press on the provided fire remote, there is no fix around it and thus im forced to endure forever pausing video and audio everytime i adjust the sound - I didn't have this problem with my old TV, and even using the soundbars IR code to implement control with the tv remote and following all the suggested steps to remedy the issue it still persists. The remote and tv have no customisation in the form of disabling the channel control buttons - Im using this purely for amazon prime video and mirroring video from my pc and nintendo switch. Having to go to the main menu to enter the actual full options/settings menu is a bit of a pain, I don't have an aerial connection as everything moved to digital a decade ago so the channel feature feels completely useless and ill-thought. For the price it's a nice affordable TV, but its compatability with Majority soundbars and remote interference is rather frustrating and poor. You can enable and customise a through-control system with the soundbar but the manufacturer isn't listed or found by this tv so i'm using a generic profile it generated that gives me basic sound control, I really wish they would of included some way to set the IR controls onto a different frequency so the two remotes i have don't interfere. The instruction manual and support from TCL is pretty bad - I'm having to use chapgpt to tell me about features. EDIT: 8/3/2026 after just a few months the TV died, and please note I was not using it everyday or for many hours, in the first week of ownership I watched a lot of The Grand Tour maybe 2-3 hours a day and after that I used it every other night for an hour or two before going to bed, and something on the power supply board had failed and it blown the plugged 5A ceramic fuse, i replaced the fuse but the TV shown zero life and would not power on at all so i've returned it. I replaced a 14 year old Hannspree TV for this, so i'm really disappointed in the lack of quality of components used in the assembly, that combined with the fact this TV produces a horrible constant hum when using it with my Snowden Majority II soundbar which works perfectly with other devices via bluetooth and optical.

Excellent picture quality, very easy to set up, superb value
A very nice TV that was super easy to set up using a QR code set up, the picture is sharp with natural colours , it's a really slim TV too and the size is perfect for a bedroom or small living room. The TV stands were easy to attach and the smart TV stands sturdy , the slim design and thin edging around the screen give it a modern stylish look. The in built speakers sound great for a small TV the sound quality is good and the television is certainly loud enough with clear dialogue and music during movies and programmes. I think it was one of the easiest TVs to set up and the menu and navigation is really easy with the apps easy to select and navigate such as Amazon prime and other apps. I have it hooked up to a console too , using the remote control it's easy to select source and HDMI 1 to access console straight away or just leave it on the menu to watch programmes using the apps menu. The TV is superb value compared to other similar televisions , it's a bargain and really good quality, the picture is sharp , colours stand out , it's a slim design, easy to set up, a good quality remote control and decent sound quality. Perfect size for a bedroom or to use with a console on a desk.

Excellent value, great picture, great price
I purchased this unit with the intention of using it to display video and presentations in meetings at work. I mounted it on the wall using the supplied VESA fixing points, and it is perfect for the job. The product is very light - I can pick it up with just a finger and thumb - and the full HD picture quality is excellent. For the money this TV would be very difficult to beat, it is a real bargain. Note that, because it is a Fire TV, you have to connect it to an Amazon account or it will whinge at you continuously until you do. You can use external inputs without connecting it to an account, but it is still annoying to have to go through the process skipping and confirming you want to skip every time you turn the screen on. I bought this personally for use at work but I am loath to attach my personal account to the screen and risk the potential of others purchasing on my account. Experience shows that Amazon will allow voice ordering even if you have turned off the various options and Fire TVs have to be handled separately and entered in various places to get full protection. I could sign up for a new account, but I am not sure that I want the amount of email that would, unleash. If I were using it at home, I would not have any problem with attaching my personal account, it is only my unusual usage that makes this a potential issue. Overall, this is a light, sturdy, modern looking television, easy to use, responsive, and perfect for the intended purpose. As a bedroom TV or display it offers great value for money.

Good Tv
Picked this up as a birthday present for my daughter and she’s been over the moon with it. The picture is sharp, colours look great, and the built‑in apps run smoothly without any faffing around. Sound quality is surprisingly decent for a TV this size, and setup only took a few minutes. For a bedroom TV, it’s been spot‑on and she’s really happy with it.
