Japanese. Quite expensive for what they are. Apparently pressurised by the action of the pen. But by God! I love those stubby Tombow pens with their grippy clips,bright colours and transparent panels,and their ability to write at all angles and in the great majority of conditions! And these refills fit like a dream, are easy to insert and remove,and put down ink in the highly efficient way that I have come to expect from Tombow! And that,friends,is why I am more than happy to keep buying these little refills. The smile that using the pens puts on my face makes them worth every penny.

Ink is a little lighter black than some brands but gives a nice fine line. The refills are small, there's no getting round that. They don't last long. I like the pens a lot because they are designed well and are great for my work, therefore I suffer the expensive refills. You'll pay at least £6 for three refills. You can buy a lot of pens with far bigger refills for that money so it's a function over value for money decision for me. My reason for loving the pens is how short they are, how well they write in inclemental conditions and the great big clip that opens really wide and easily. Being short makes it easy to write under a weather proof clip board with the clear plastic hinged cover and the clip means it's easy to ram the pen onto a pad with a spiral binder. the choice of bright colours is now seen by me as great as I've lost my favourite transparent version and several all black numbers. I'm now using a bright yellow version but being rubberised for grip also means it gets dirty easily if like me you use your hands a lot outdoors. All in all, I love them. :o) ......now I need to buy some more expensive refills as I'm on my last one, again !

Ok, I’ve been using these for years. I work in outdoors so wanted a pen the writes in the rain, and vertically (leaning against a wall etc) and doesn’t leak in your pocket which normal pens do frequently when in your pocket. This pen refill is just the job, I was using a space pen but those refills are much dearer. They both suffer from being dropped on the nib like any pen, so you need to replace the refill. For outdoors work they are great, does what it says Pro’s: light, always works, doesn’t leak. Cons: not much ink.

I originally used these pens for geocaching but then found it is also perfect for my work too. Each refill lasts me around 3mths and so having 3 will keep me going a while now. Fantastic product
