Gives air to roots
Perlite is a great additive to potting soil to provide better air to roots, and it 'lightens' the soil. Recommend adding perlite if your soil is thick or heavy. I couldn't find smaller bags at the the hardware store, and I don't need a 40 pound bag! This little bag handled a couple of 5 gallon pots, when mixed with good soil.

great for my plants
Bought this perlite for my carnivorous plants and works great and I didn't have to worry about any fertilizers or chemicals that might kill my plants. I also use it for other plants to loosen up the soil and works nicely.

Just what I was looking for
I was looking for plain perlite to repot some cacti / succulents but the only thing I could find locally was the brand with added fertilizer. I'm not sure if that would have worked but I'd rather be safe than sorry. This does not contain any additives from what I can tell. I didn't see that advertised explicitly anywhere on the product page so thought I'd mention it here in case anyone else was unsure. Great product, will definitely order again when needed.

This perlite worked very well. Not as crumbly and dusty as other sometimes are; I would purchase it again.

Good quality perolite
What can I say about perilite? The dice of the bday for the price is generous. The pieces of perilite is nice and not pulverized not overly dusty. I would purchase again.

False product
The package received was less than half of what was supposed to be in it. It was not in the original bag, and was packaged separately. I would not recommend buying this .
