i was having hemorrhoid problems for several month after a c-section. i kept using the prep h suppositories but they really only gave temporary relief an melt so quickly that a short time after you'll just end up running to the bathroom to pass the coconut oil. i finally looked for something different and using the calmol things got better within about a week! they are cocoa butter not oil, so somewhat thicker and don't melt as quickly. you don't just pass it all after a few minutes, it actually remains in till a bowel movement. since the active ingredient is also different i believe both of those factors are what made a big difference for me.

It works well for itching

I've had hemorrhoids for years, and saw a proctologist, who recommended these. I was using another brand which contained a vasoconstrictor, and the doctor said these were all-natural. They were soothing, but did not help get rid of the hemorrhoid. If you're looking for something that works quickly, and will alleviate the pain, itching and discomfort associated with hemorrhoids, this is not the product for you. Also, when ordered from Amazon.com and shipped from a 3rd party seller, the product arrived somewhat damaged. The shipper required a signature, so it wasn't damaged from being left outside in the heat, or anything like that, it was just shipped to me damaged. Didn't bother returning the product but the price for each suppository ends up being over 60 cents, so it's worth complaining about if you receive them damaged.
