I've tried all sorts of traps, and the best ones are always the old fashion metal and wood ones. These also have the classic small metal trigger instead of the larger plastic ones. I find that these triggers are harder to set... but also more sensitive and that's where the magic happens. I used tomatoes to bait mine... since my issue is rodents taste testing every ripe fruit. The traps that were triggered caught one and only hit the second, but found it dead a few feet away. The old trap I had was also set off, but with no luck... these are definitely an improvement as even when it misses, they still get hit in the head due to the trigger location. These are BIG rats and the traps are so far 100% effective. buying in bulk like this I have 8 more for future infestations, and the ones outside can still be used, so long as they are not left in the rain. Great value and overall a good product. Not posting an image because of the whole dead rat thing, but these work!

These are the best traps for larger rodents. The springs are SUPER strong. And a couple of them I had to straighten out the trigger/catch that the arm sits on, to make it easier to set. That was only because it's thin sheet metal like all traps of this type are. So far super impressed, and it worked great

Works well and kills rats instantly - purchased some fancy looking pastic ones that were slightly easier to use but wasn't strong enough to snap and kill instantly, causing rats to flop around outside with the trap on their heads all night until they died from exhaustion. This kills instantly from what I can tell, which is way more humane for the rats and easier for me to deal with.

Over 25 years owning my own pest control company. Decided to buy these instead of industry accepted Victor traps. These are totally flawed. No quality control. They will not go off as the trigger metal ledge hands down too far.. Cost me time and $$$$...7 traps peanut butter licked dry... Not by mice but rats...DO NOT BUY!!!!...Amazon should take them off as a viable rat trap selection.

I bought these to put around my duck pen. Even if they do not catch a rat, they wear out quickly, and the staple comes out making them no longer usable. Good for about 20 - 45 days of use outside. Water/rain will set them off, and then the parts bend.

We tried the sticky traps for the problem that we had at first. Then we decided to go back old school and these are perfect. They work very well for the money and I should have bought these first. They are easy to assemble and easy to bait and when you catch your critter it's easy to clean up and dispose of. Within minutes of baiting and putting them out we caught the first of 3 mice. We didn't even know we had that many in the house. Will recommend and will repurchase if and when we need them again.
