It's an OK build for a model available nowhere else at this scale
The kit is OK and fills a niche for a 1:72 Hellcat. The wings and fuselage are on the chunky side, with very small and fragile bits needed to be glued on. Some detail in cockpit, no pilot included, and the canopy looks odd being left open due to the thickness of the transparent plastic. Landing gear assembly is also quite basic. The decals for the vertical tail fin did not fit well and had to be cut. However, the end product looks satisfactory and scales very nicely with other 1:72 kits of the Pacific theater from other makers.

First time putting a model airplane together!
I got this model to use as an example of how to patiently assemble a model with good technique! My grandson loves, loves, loves anything having to do with WWII aircraft. While visiting him last summer we bought and assembled a couple of snap together models. Well, I think mostly I put them together. I had sent him this very model kit for Christmas the year before and found out that it had been thrown out when he and his dad ran into problems. So I thought it was time for a life lesson. I learned the life lesson. Putting model planes together takes time, a dedicated space, specialized tools and supplies, and is well worth the effort! As a first time modeler I remember first being surprised by how small the pieces were. I also learned that having good tools and supplies, like glue and paint, is important to a successful build. Well, I got the job done. Sent captioned pictures of the process to my grandchild and gave the finished plane to him when he came to visit last month. I will say that perhaps my biggest problem was the size of some of the pieces. I could barely see them! But I will say that all the pieces, no matter how small, fit well. I learned some techniques that made the process easier. Seems like a good quality kit. My grandson and I were both very happy with the result, even with the mistakes and the adjustments I made to accommodate my arthritic hands! So happy with the model and the process that I got another WWII fighter, NOT 1:72 but 1:48 this time!

No glue in box
Thought the quality would be better for the price

Gift for nephew
My nephew and whose dad put these together, they really enjoyed doing it. They strung them up with fishing line in his bedroom. Once they were completed, they showed me pictures. They went together very well. They were much larger than I thought. They would be the detail on them was amazing.
