Works ok. Would be far more usable if replacement inserts were listed individually and in packs of ten. Maybe stamp Insert type on body?

In general these seem to be a pretty decent indexable lathe bit set overall and reasonably well made. The one problem I did run into is that the cutoff bit in the set is not a 5/16" (8mm) square shank, it's an 8x10mm rectangular shank which unfortunately for me didn't fit into the square shank tool holder post I had on my lathe without first milling the bit shank to be 8mm square. Not the end of the world since I have the equipment for it, but it would have been nice not having to fix that yet. Just something to be aware of. The carbide cutters sit pretty flush on the shanks after you tighten down the screws good, and the cutters are reasonably sharp. Not razor sharp, but sharp. It certainly makes it a whole lot easier using these compared to trying to grind and resharpen my HSS bits, so pretty satisfied with them overall.

I’m 2 for 2 of these bits snapping or breaking into little pieces. They are gold coated which I guess is the carbide but that stuff is not good. The inside is a dull gray and I tried less aggressive cuts than the first one with the same results. The harbor freight ones took a full on snag stopping the spindle rotation and were just fine.
