The band uses a Behringer XR18 mixer - which has 6 aux busses with XLR outputs for monitor mixes. Each person has a floor wedge monitor plugged into one of the busses. I ditched my floor wedge monitor in favor of this device in conjunction with a small headphone amplifier (Donner EM1). This XLR transmitter plugs into the XR18 Aux output (XLR). The receiver plugs into the Donner EM1 amp(XLR) and I have a decent pair of in-ear headphones plugged into the Donner EM1 amp. Works great and the whole rig cost about $100.
