Excellent quality. Was happy to find it here on Amazon at a good price when I needed to get more (after using up a bag I've had for 20 years). Burpee seems to be a good choice. I would NOT recommend buying anything more expensive than Burpee. And it's organic.

There is currently a shortage of vermiculite, so I was thrilled to find it for a good price on here. This is fine grade...perfect for lightly covering seeds that need light to germinate. This is not what you want to store dahlias. Overall, it's a good value and beats trying to crush larger pieces with a rolling pin. I've had lots of vermiculite, but this is the first time I've tried fine grade for horticulture use. Typically I buy whatever I can find, stick it in a Ziploc, and roll/crush it to death to get it so it's fine grade. There's always leftover pieces in it, though, that are too big and have to be picked out. This was used over tiny seeds that needed light to germinate. I put the seeds on the seed starting soil, and then sprinkle the vermiculite on top. The seeds germinated as expected. Note: you'll need a very low pressure water bottle so you can fine mist before applying heavier water, or the vermiculite and seeds will blow everywhere. One tip is to spray directly down on them at first to minimize the blowing, and then you can water like normal. Once your seedlings are up, you can bottom water. Highly recommend! The price was the same as all my local options, too.

I use this vermiculite when starting new fig trees from shoots. It helps soil retain moisture much better and greatly increases my success in propagation. Increases time between required watering.

There is small toothpicks size holes all around the top of the bag. Other than that product looks fine.

Perfect for covering seeds that need just enough cover to germinate. Also great for moisture control.

This bag of Verm is just as described and worked really well for my gardening needs before springtime is in full swing. The vermiculite matter is larger than others I’ve tried and perfect to mix in with my potting soils and coco coir. Will buy again.

So far working wonderfully !!! Plants are popping up and no green crap on the soil!! Love this.
