My first test was to wrap one around me and step outside in freezing weather, snow still on the ground at night, and I could tell the difference, with and without the blanket. Next I tried sleeping under one in my bed that night, It was warmer then blankets alone and third I use one to reflect heat to stay warm. I've tried others in the past and have to give this one a high rating for size, quality, light weight, noise level, and not that easy to tare.

These blankets have worked out well for me. I was concerned at first that they might be too thin and prone to tearing, but yet they have be subjected to some rough handling and have not let me down. I have been using these to help me avoid getting chilled from sleeping on an air mattress without any insulation other than the bottom of my sleeping back. Putting such a blanket around my air mattress and then adding a cotton cover to keep this blanket in place actually works well with overall light weight and low bulk. I do camping trips on my motorcycle and so keeping things rather small and light weight is important, given this is not so easy to accomplish with my somewhat heavy self.

Small, bit seem sturdy. Two zipped in a case and each in their own little bag. Bonus safety whistle and tiny carabener also. Good to keep in the car and in the day pack for hikes.

Teaching Wilderness First Aid for 16 years, I use these for many interventions in care and search and rescue, they are great when you are in a tight spot which you may find yourself one day, they are a valuable resource when you are in need. I recommend everyone hiking or just going in the woods to take several of these this the number one thing I recommend in your pack. I buy them usually in bulk for training for a few dollars they are worth their weight in gold to me.
