Did the job, but the bolt that holds the nail kept coming loose. It got very frustrating after a while, not something I'd expect from a Marshalltown tool.

This tool works great. After the mortar sets up a bit, you do the vertical joints first, then the horizontal joints. You set the height of the nail head the appropriate depth. Just make sure to clean it thoroughly after each use. I watched a British tutorial on this and the presenter didn't know which end to use. If done correctly you don't need to use a jointer following this.
