3M Single Step Primer, 08682, Black Color, One-Part Urethane, UV Resistant, 30 mL/1.01 fl oz

Used this to create a better surface for adhesive to stick to on a convertible window repair. It was easy to use, went on quickly without mess and dried quickly as well. I gave it roughly 30 minutes to dry and that seemed to be more than enough. It's black so make sure you understand that before buying it. In 99% of applications the color wont matter but I can see a few with lighter colored cloth tops that might not like it if they mess up the application. Ultimately it wont be showing if done right so the color matters little. I used a makeup brush that my roommate didn't need to apply it because I didn't have any other brush available, and that worked perfectly. The adhesive stuck to the glass and the cloth and everything is working fine. The container is a metal bottle with plastic lid, and a small mixing bead inside. It was not difficult to open and does not leak. If anything changes like it separates or fades or something I may update the review, but for now, 5/5 stars!

Worked great to replace the rear window of my convertible

If you have to reattach the back window on a convertible soft top, use this primer and "3M 08609 Window-Weld Super Fast Urethane Black Cartridge - 10.5 fl oz." adhesive. You also need to make sure you buy the suction cup clamps. In the end, this is as good as a job as if you took it to the body shop, except they charge you $600 - $1400 to reattach the window. Great product! For this product a little goes a long way. This small container is enough for any window and you will still have tons left over. Make sure you also buy some daubers. Wear gloves and old clothes, this product will stain everything it touches. But if it drips on the window, just let it dry. It will come off the window easily with a razor blade.

used this to prime the glass in preperation for 3m window weld adhesive to repair a convertible back window that had seperated at a corner. So far so good, its been almost 2 months since the repair and the vehicle has been in temps ranging from 80 degrees to 30 degrees so far. It's be out in direct sunlight and in rain as well as beinfg washed and the repair is holding well. I'm very happy with the results.

Changed the Quarter Windows in my 1994 Merc Cougar. The window bolts onto an inner frame and there is a urethane seal. Used a window scraper to remove the old urethane. Some wax and grease remover helped to disolve and smooth down what I could not scrape off. I used the 3M 08682 Single Step Primer. The primer is black and goes on like a smooth black paint. You have to get it right the first time. I used a little foam paint brush and trimmed it so it fit in the bottle. It dries hard on the brush so you will have to dispose of the brush. I applied the primer to both the frame and the window. The 3M 08609 Windo-Weld is a thin aluminum (like a soda can) tube. The expiration date is printed on the top of the tube. There is a pull tab on the bottom of the tube. When ready to use, remove the pull tab. You will see an inner platic seal for the caulk gun. You can puncture the tube on top with the punch tool on the caulk gun. I also bought a Newborn 250 with 18:1 thrust ratio. Recommend this caulk gun. The urethane is thick. If handling, you should wear Nitrile gloves. Hand tightening the bolts on the second window, I managed to get some on my hands. The urethane oozed through the bolt holes. The wax and grease remover came in handy to clean my hands. I put down a quarter inch thread that I estimated at 72 inches for each window. Total 144 inches and I estimate I used 70% of the product. Was my first time to use a caulk gun or urethane or change a vehicle window. The caulk gun, urethane, primer, and window scrapper cost about $75. Nice feeling to get it done yourself. This is necessary if you plan to use 3m windo seal however read the long strip of instructions on the can including highly flammable and grounding the can, yourself, and work to insure static spark does not ignite it.

Worked exactly as described, quality product from 3M, barely used any considering I did two large van windows on a Sprinter

Great product when used properly and in combination with 3M window weld. The rear window on my wife's 2006 Crossfire Roadster separated from the convertible top so I used these two products to glue it back to the top. About 3/4 of the window needed to be glued back and these product worked extremely well. You need to plan how you'll do it and take your time doing it but you'll be happy with the result. Total cost of the items needed (primer, window weld and suction cups) was about $150 and was done over 2 days given you can only do half the window at a time.

Stinging price for quantity, but you only do the job once and well. I bought it so I could stick the rear window to my convertible car. Not a job I would like to repeat soon!
