Great Value...not Walmart Quality
Really well-made tools with brass-they perform well, are easy to customize, and the soundpost blanks are decent. They are not top-grade spruce, but a couple of them really sounded good. I usually tap on them using various instruments to find a good resonating piece, and was surprised to find any, let alone a couple out of the scarce 5.

Nice little set
Nice little set. Makes the job of setting a sound post a little easier, now if only I had 3 hands for the job ๐คฃEven the sound pegs are okay. I think they're pinewood, so not the best choice. You want oak or similar hardwood, but it gets the job done. I didn't buy the set for the pegs, I got it for the tools and they're awesome!

Worked but I modified the setting post a bit
I restored a badly damaged 1910 "George Washburn" violin I found in a dumpster in 1978. I don't know why or how I managed to carry this broken-up instrument around the country through college, graduate school, post-doctoral training and several East-coast, West-coast and Colorado moves, but I did. I finally got around to restoring the violin last year and only needed to find a way to set a new sound post. I thought I was going to have to improvise some way to set it, then came across this affordable tool set. I did file the setting tool's setting edge a bit so it was more of a sharp point then the blunt end it comes with. I don't know what a professional tool looks like or how sharp those might be, but with the slight modification, it took me about 30 minutes to measure, cut and set a new post (with guidance from YT, of course). Very happy with the purchase.

It works faster than trying without it

Not pro quality but good enough for me
I needed a tool to replace a sound post on my granddaughter's violin so I bought this. I worked fine but two of the included sound posts were unusable because they had strips of live edge along their length.

Finally. Proper sound ๐ป
The difference in sound after installing the soundpost is worth the effort. You will need to bend the sound post setter to a 90 degree angle an inch from the tip on both ends.
