Would most likely be quicker and easier and cheaper without the headache of making something work to just put metal fence post next to the wooden post as the gate comes with hardware to attach to metal post. So basically, the cost of metal chain-link fence post would be all you needed, I would suggest cementing the post in the ground as well. 24" deep since the gate will be a load on the post. **Q: What pin size for the needed post hinge?** A: The hole measures 5/8". I tried it on a standard post hinge from Lowes and it was a little small, so i changed the gate hinge to the standard from Lowes. Hope this helps **Q: If I order one at $102 why does two of them cost $242** A: I have not ordered the double so I do not know for sure but my best guess would be that a double gate requires slightly different latch/hinge hardware so that could be why. Adjustable size. One thing is does not come with the parts needed to attach to post. Posts may be different sizes, so check this before installing as you will need to purchase that separately. I paid a hand in an bc of limited time, but clear instructions on assembly probably would been about 3 hrs to assemble myself. I got two for a double swing gate 10 ft opening. Installed where previously had fence from one post to next.
