How long are you needing it to be? **Q: Correct that probes can't be completely submerged? Just the tip can be?** A: On the Connect version I received, you can fully submerge the probes. However, they come with a suction cup that attaches to the cable to place wherever you want to stick them. **Q: Does this controller work without the connect stick?** A: Lets clarify a few things.. 1) YES, it will operate perfectly fine without the connect stick, it just wont log any data from the controller nor will you be able to login to the cloud to view the controllers data log. For that to happen, you need a connect USB stick. 2) It does automatically adjust the ph just fine, if a alarm condition is present it will stop dosing, and there are other conditions that will prohibit it from dosing automatically. From the manual: Use ‘mode’ to select the pH controller connect function. ‘Monitor’ mode shows the current solution pH reading. It is the factory default setting. ‘Control’ mode allows the controller to dose pH stock solution to the set values. Dosing will NOT occur when:• The pH controller connect is in ‘monitor’ mode• The pH controller connect is in an alarm state• If the pH controller connect senses dosing is not having an effect on the system (after 15 dose cycles)• The solution temperature is above 50 °C / 122 °F, or below 0 °C / 32 °FAlso, you set your dosing amount, ie, 1 second on dosing, wait a hour, then re-dose if PH level is still not correct. Im not sure what the previous comment is talking about the unit not auto dosing but he may want to read the manual. **Q: Can this be connected to both PH up and Down simultaneously?** A: No, just one. It cannot handle both up and down at the same time but it can be set to use either one of them.
