HP Stream 14" Laptop: Lightweight, stylish and perfect for every day use!
I've been using the HP Stream 14" Laptop since November 2024, and I have to say, it’s a fantastic little device for the price! Right now, I’m actually writing this review on it, and it’s handling everything smoothly. One of the best things about this laptop is how lightweight and compact it is—perfect for carrying around. The battery life is impressive, lasting hours on a single charge, which means I don’t have to stress about finding an outlet during the day. It has a sleek, stylish design that looks great, and despite its budget-friendly price, it doesn’t feel cheap. Performance-wise, it zips along pretty quickly for everyday tasks like web browsing, streaming movies, and working on documents. While it’s not the fastest laptop out there, it works a treat for programs and apps that don’t demand too much memory. Overall, if you’re looking for a budget-friendly laptop that’s portable, reliable, and stylish, the HP Stream 14" is a solid choice. Pretty good value for money!

Budget laptop that does what I need it to
Budget laptop that performs adequately for basic functions of emails, internet browsing, Microsoft Office and cloud storage. Performance is slow at times which is a little frustrating, but not wholly unexpected, given the specification. A nice surprise was the year's subscription to Office 365, but I will replace this after 12 months, as the cost of a continuing subscription is unwarranted for my needs. After about four weeks' use, I think this was a good purchase for my needs.

Great value
Well made. Easy to get out of S mode. Updated to windows pro without a problem. Only problem is the small harddrive. Using external harddrive over comes this. Runs fast and smooth.

Not disappointed, its a great little machine for basic everyday stuff.
After reading the reviews I was a bit sceptical about buying this laptop. However, for the price and what I want it for (programming fire alarms and basic report writing) it was a risk worth taking. I am not at all disappointed! Its a great little machine. Lightweight, good screen and its fairly nippy with regards performance. Yeah its not for gaming or HD video streaming on multiple windows but if you are realistic with your expectations for a £150 laptop you wont be disappointed. My only recommendation would be to go for the 128GB version as the 64GB soon fills up. However, there is a full size SD card slot and I have added a cheap 128GB card for storage and it works great. Laptop has bluetooth too which is a good feature if you want to add a mouse etc. although the touch pad is fine. Its lightweight and has that HP build feel so its sturdy and has a nice textured finish. I travel the country and wanted a small, lightweight model to fit in a small bag and it ticks the box. Windows 11 seems to run fine with minimal lag. I have turned off the "s" mode as I don't want to be locked to using just Microsoft apps. It has two full sized USB ports and a C type too. There's an HDMI connector too which I use with my projector and that works great. All in all, great little laptop for basic stuff.

Do not buy.
Slowest laptop I've ever seen, not sure how in 2026 a piece of technology can be this slow to do basic tasks such as open a web browser... Bought this laptop to browse the internet and perhaps watch YouTube videos/tutorials. It is incapable of streaming video playback without stuttering. Tried using Netflix etc also and it's worsez most videos won't open as the laptop laggs out. This is with power settings set to max performance and with/without the charger plugged in. Absolutely useless laptop do not buy this.

Great for entry level and semi experienced users
Excellent just as expected from HP first experience with Window 11 home edition, so still getting head round whole functionality of unit and system. Unfortunately not a lighted keyboard but that was my own error, very easy to use in general and set up was no great problem. The unit is good value for price and as a DIYr I’m confident this will be an asset for the usage I need,, I would recommend this laptop not only for entry level but also for those of us who consider ourselves computer literate LOL.
