Jacquard Solarfast Starter Kit

Really good value kit. Has everything you need and easy instructions

I haven't done solar printing for over 10 years so I was a little worried about messing up, but the instructions are very clear and easy to under stand. The colors that come in the kit are pretty and mix well together. It worked great on cotton and pretty well on Demin. The bottles are pretty small so you don't get many uses, but it's a fantastic kit if you want to try solar printing. I'll deffo try some more after using this

Product good, sponges are very small but hardly an issue. would be good value if I hadn't have to pay extra customs charges and go to collect from the post office. I don't mind paying if I know in advance so was a bit miffed, however I have taken advantage of the fabulous sunshine and produced some really interesting image. (I have had stuff from overseas many times so I know about these charges I just expect to be told about them before I order, an extra £11 was quite a bit!)

A lovely thing to do on a summer morning. I was able to use a canvas rather than watercolour paper.

Disappointing - colours aren't as subtle as a proper cyanotype. Worst part is the amount of rinsing and washing after exposure - incredible waste of (precious) water. Not very impressed

I was disappointed that it was not made clear at the time of ordering that I would have to pay a large customs duty on this product.

The item arrived quickly and met my expectations

This kit is geared toward small projects and just getting a feel for Solarfast. They give you quite a small amount of three colors of dye, which will do fine if you are making wall art or, as in the shown example, blocking out a small section on the front of a t-shirt. I didn't want to do that, I wanted to dye the whole shirt. I had to use the entirety of all three bottles and thin it with 1 part water / 3 parts dye. I blocked the sunlight with paperboard cutouts and dried leaves that I had prepared beforehand. Planning, preparation, and quick action are necessary for success. Product is colorfast as advertised. I sent it through the laundry twice, once with the provided Solarfast detergent and once with regular detergent. There was no loss of color, nor any blurring. All in all this is a great product. The best idea is to use this kit to get a feel for it, then switch to buying larger amounts of the dye in bulk. I do a lot of tie-dye related projects and it's very rare for anything to come out exactly as I wanted/expected, but Solarfast did. Will definitely be doing more in the future.

Il kit contiene tutto ciò che serve. Io avevo fretta di fare una prova e ho fatto un test con una stampa su fogli di acetato trasparenti. Il risultato è comunque buono. Il colori sono sufficienti per fare un bel po’ di stampe.
