In use for nearly 4 years
This is the best small appliance investment I have ever made. Nearly four years of heavy use, and I can say without hesitation that this has more than paid for itself 2x. I’m amazed how it gets what are typically very problematic stains out of every type of fabric safely. With a family of kids active in all kinds of sports, we have had every type of grass and dirt stain, ketchup, wine, chocolate, blood, you name it, on every type of fabric, from denim to cotton towels to dry-clean only delicate fabrics, and the ozonated cold water has gotten every stain out completely every time. There was one time where we had to run an item through the was three times to get a stain out. Otherwise, a single wash cycle has always worked to completely remove every kind of stain (just be sure to wash an item right away before the stain has time to set). What I have noticed most, though, is how much better this ozone generator works on white cotton. Specifically, white cotton T-shirts and cotton towels stay far whiter than when we used to use hot water and laundry detergent and bleach. T-shirts in particular would gradually turn gray or slightly yellow, and the material would get thinner and thinner. The cold ozonated water prevents this discoloration and fabric deterioration. Cotton comes out much softer as well because, unlike detergent, bleach, and fabric softeners which damage cloth fiber and leave small amounts of residue, the ozone simply evaporates as oxygen molecules leaving nothing behind and without breaking down any of the cotton fiber. My T-shirts in particular look brand new after more than a year (same brand, same material as before). Fabric washed with cold (never hot) ozonated water also leaves fabric much, much softer than detergent and fabric softener. Ironically, fabric softener is actually harmful to fabric and causes it to deteriorate (hence the softening). You will notice a difference, too. Since the ozonated water leaves no residue, once you use any fabric that has been washed with detergent and fabric softener will feel odd. It’s hard to describe, other than to say if you ever touch a dryer sheet, you can feel a weird residue on your skin. You will notice that’s not present with items washed in ozonated water. Terry cloth in particular also feels softer. Once you go back to terry cloth washed in detergent and fabric softener, you’ll immediately notice that it feels more coarse. BEST OF ALL, ozone has been used for decades as a commercial laundry alternative to detergents, bleach, and fabric softeners. It has only been recently that ozone generators like this one could be cost-effectively produced for residential laundry use. Ozone is environmentally safe - the ozone generator produces ozone (oxygen molecules) from the water without adding any chemicals. Ozone naturally cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects, and then dissipates back into the water leaving nothing behind. Ozone has been used for decades to treat city water around the world because it is an environmentally safe alternative to adding chlorine or other chemicals to water (bleach is toxic to all water life forms, and does not naturally break down into safe chemicals, and detergent - even “plant based” ones - contain chemicals that are harmful to aquatic life forms). Since most laundry odors are caused by bacteria, ozonated water is extremely effective at disinfecting fabric and killing harmful odor-causing bacteria, unlike detergent and fabric softeners which use artificial additives to cover the smell of odors without killing the odor-causing bacteria. A couple of important tips (these are in the user manual): 1) ONLY use cold water. Never use warm or hot water with the ozone generator. Warm and hot water cause the ozone in the water to dissipate quickly, which prevents it from cleaning and disinfecting your fabric. Just disconnect the hot water hose from your washer. You won’t need it, and your washer will operate correctly without it connected. Using hot or warm water unnecessarily wastes money and prevents the ozone from naturally cleaning and disinfecting. 2) NEVER use any kind of detergent, fabric softener, bleach, stain treatment, or oxy-powder of any kind (no baking soda, either). Each of those interacts with the ozone and makes it far less effective at disinfecting and cleaning. Using these just wastes money and defeats the purpose of the ozone. 3) If you have a troublesome stain, like blood, wine, grass, dirt, chocolate, etc. - get the item into the wash as soon as possible, but NEVER pre-treat it with any kind of soap, detergent, or stain remover. You might need to run the item through a second cycle BEFORE drying it. 4) We have safely and successfully used our front-load washer to remove stains from some delicate dry-clean only fabrics. I would NOT use a top load washer with an agitator for any delicate dry-clean only fabric. Although the ozonated water does work for fabrics like rayon and polyester, you should NOT try to wash 100% wool or silk. Take those to a dry cleaner and let them try to get stains out. In the nearly four years of heavy (almost daily) use of our ozone generator, we have reduced our monthly gas bill by more than 20% since we are no longer using warm or hot water for laundry, and we have eliminated a half dozen laundry detergent / bleach / pre-wash / oxy powder / dryer sheet products, saving well over $400. I would absolutely recommend this product, whether you want cleaner, softer, longer-lasting clothing; fresher smelling laundry; whether you want to save money; or whether you want an environmentally responsible alternative for your laundry; or a combination of these. Hands down, the best small appliance purchase I have ever made.

This is the one you want
I waited a long time to write this review because I wanted to know if this would work, and how well this would work in any condition. We installed this about six months ago and have put hundreds of loads through it since then. We have a front loading washing machine, and we use this with a custom built wash cycle that uses cold water only but is otherwise similar to the machine's "normal" cycle. 1. Cleanliness of the clothes They are as clean when washed using this product and no detergent as I have ever had with any combination of washer and detergent. Clothes come out clean and odor free. Some of the hype about these machines is that they push ozone into the fabric which leads to clothes that dry faster and are fluffier, this is not observably true for us. But they do come out clean and dry normally. So maybe this doesn't improve on the standard method, but it certainly doesn't detract. 2. Really, no detergent? Yeah really, no detergent. You can of course use detergent if you want to/have heavily soiled clothes. No one is going to come to your house and stop you...I think. But we haven't used/bought detergent in 6 months and that's probably permanent for us. I did a cost analysis (because I'm a geek) and this device easily pays for itself in 2 years by saving you on detergent. Even if it goes belly up after that, I'd absolutely replace it because it does actually save the environment, and money, whichever of those is important to you. 3. Saves the environment? Do tell.. Well let's start with the bottles of detergent. I always recycled mine, you do as well, but you know what's better than recycling what you consume? Not consuming it in the first place. No chemicals or dyes or manufacturing waste to enter the waste stream, no oils or carbon footprints in the production of bottles or soaps, and no water footprint used in making liquid detergents. That's all eliminated using this. Bonus, if you are on a well/septic system like we are, this devices returns clean (ish) water back to that system. We vented ours to a new line which we ran to the leech fields. Since there is only organic run-off this is a perfectly acceptable solution. You could spend big on biodegradable soaps, or you could just eliminate them. 4. Cold water only? How does that work in winter? Yes cold water only, and yes it works in winter, in northern NY where we spend a majority of winter below freezing, and several days in a row below zero. This system still works fine in these conditions even with painfully cold water running through the system. Although we do have a hot water line available to warm up the wash water should we find it needed, we haven't yet and, contrary to what they tell you on Game of Thrones, winter is almost over here. 5. Installation Yeah I paid a guy $85.00 to do that for me. Seemed worth it to have someone else to blame in case water shot all over the place. I could have done it myself because it requires little more than connecting rubber hoses to nozzles. So you can save $85.00 and do it yourself no problem, but then you won't have anyone to blame if the laundry room looks like your kid's were reenacting the final scene in "Carrie" with water. 6. Maintenance Aside from the regularly scheduled filter changes (see installation and maintenance guide) this thing just goes about it's business just as you would want it to. 7. Rashes and irritation My family has extremely sensitive skin. Every winter all four of us would break out in rashes from dry skin. Little red bumps, nasty stuff. We tried switching soaps, using lotions and oils, eliminating all perfume and fragrance, etc. We didn't buy this because of our sensitive skin, but I can report that all of the dry skin problems we used to experience in winter are gone and I suspect that not using detergents in our laundry has at least something to do with it. Though this may be confirmation bias, or a classic causation versus correlation issue. Who knows? 8. Cool factor It is a blast to watch people's mind slowly explode as you explain to them that you are washing your clothes with science instead of chemicals (which I know chemicals are science, John, I know that. Don't be that guy John, ok? ok? Just be cool) And as a bonus this unit has a blue light that comes on whenever the water flows through the chamber and it just looks like something the Jetson's would have had. I mean it scores huge on the cool factor. 9. Take away I read endless reviews and articles about this technology and the reality and feasibility of this technology before I bought this system. I'm a hard-core internet researcher when it comes to products and the like. If you are considering whether this is real or hype, or whether or not this is the right unit for you, here's what you have been looking for. This thing works exactly as they say it does. It saves you money and the environment, you get clean clothes, less skin irritation, seriously, just buy it. This is the model you want too. I looked at every available model through many sources and this one has the features and components you want. Go ahead and blame me if I'm wrong (I'm not though.)

Pure when cold.
Ok, I've had this for a few months... and I'll say I'm fairly happy with it. I gave it 5 stars because it does what it says, but I'm only "fairly happy" because of the way it works isn't conducive to where I live, and some bleaching. So, yes it bleaches items. That's what it is... more clearly it oxidizes things, and does what hydrogen peroxide would do, conventionally bleaching. What I did notice was that it tended to bleach items that had their colors not washed before, or not set fully. So here's my suggestion, wash new items in hot water first, then wash with the O3 water on cold. When it works, it actually leaves clothes smelling oddly fresh. Like there's no soap, there's no scents, only water; so how does my clothes actually smell good? Magic apparently. I can't explain it. It has a slight ozone smell, but after that fades, it smells like fresh linen... Now my biggest problem, and the main take away from owning one of these, you CANT use hot water, at all. You can't even use warm water at all. The oxygen is dissolved in the water, like carbonation is dissolved in your soda (seriously.) Warm water doesn't let gasses, like oxygen or carbon-dioxide, stay dissolved in it. So in order to have high concentration of oxygen to clean the clothes, it has to be cold... best if it's refrigerated, like a soda. (Yes, soda under pressure can be warm but once removed from the can the gasses will condense out of it as quickly as it can. Unless you've cooled it first.) During the winter, this system worked great for me. Water is cold from the tap, and oxygen is dissolved in the water well. But during the summer, in the Mojave desert, even the tap water gets warm... like "I would enjoy a soak in this warm water" warm. As the summer approached, my clothes and sheets didn't smell "as good"... uh oh... the water is too warm for this to work anymore. To solve this, I've kept using the cold water, but I've added a single thing of detergent. There's "enough" oxygen dissolved to do a good amount of disinfectant work, and the soap should cut through the rest. So, for me, it's not a magic bullet... however it did cut my detergent use down to only during the summer. Minor bleaching effect can be mitigated if you remember about it with new items. If you live in a cold climate, or have cold water all year round, you're in luck. You can literally stop buying detergent with this... which is good if you want to stop polluting the water table with soaps, want less chemicals on your skin, and want actually ^disinfected^ clothes. Soap doesn't disinfect or kill germs, it just helps remove them by making water able to release them. Ozone breaks down the cell walls of germs and bacteria, and destroys them, not just killing them... it's as good as bleach at disinfecting, but without (always) destroying colors. However, the upfront cost is the biggest bug for me. How many loads of laundry can you do, adding the cost of heating the water and the soap use, to match the upfront cost of the unit? Probably a few years worth. At about $0.25 a load for detergent, and lets say $0.25 for heating water also... that's about 600 loads, for me 4 loads a week, that's just under 3 years of laundry (probably a lot more depending on the water heating costs, or less depending on how much laundry you do, also depending on the price you get the system at.)

It does as advertised
A neighbor told me about this nearly a year ago, he works for a big plumbing company and they crawl around in grease traps at a local pig processing plant plus the everyday sewage etc... that a plumber gets into. His company was washing their clothes each day and decided to save some money by not using soap anymore and using one of these (a different brand) he claimed their clothes came out clean a fresh smelling compared to how they smelled before they went in. I did extensive research for over 6 months while saving up enough Amazon gift cards to purchase one (the same brand they were using). I finally got ready to step out and buy one then Amazon stopped carrying the one I had researched all this time, then the price on that one dropped $100.00 but could only be purchased through the company that manufactures them which concerned me. I made several calls and sent numerous emails to everyone I could find to inquire as to why the huge price drop and why I could not longer purchase through Amazon. I got as many answers as I made phone calls and sent emails, no one would give me the same answer twice. I began to get really cold feet on purchasing one, then I began to research the 03 Pure and found they have a 30 day money back guarantee and a full 1 year parts and labor warrantee and decided it was worth the risk. We purchased ours nearly 3 months ago. We do 5 to 10 loads of wash every week, I do a lot of cooking, gardening and yard work so our clothes are not what you would find in a house with children but we can make a mess of things at times. What we have learned is some of the claims you see are just what I thought, "too good to be true" I read things like the towels got so "fluffy" they no longer fit in the closet..... that is not true :) our clothes are clean but as for the softness and fluffiness not so much. I have not worn clothes hung out on a clothes line for 40 years so who can remember what that really smells like, Our clothes do not stink they really have not smell at all so I cannot tell you they smell like they have been hung on the line all day. We did figure out really quick if you get a stain you better use some type of stain remover because the stains will still be there when you take the clothes out of the washer. We have not used one ounces of soap, hot water or fabric softener since we started using this, our clothes are bright and clean although we have started using a dryer sheet to cut down on the static cling we began to get especially in our whites. Would I recommend this to my friends, yes and I have I even posted on Facebook about it after we passed the 30 mark and decided to keep it, I wanted all my friends to look at them for themselves and I recommend you do the research as well don't ever take my word or the word of just one person when considering a purchase such as this. We love ours and hope to use this one for a very long time.

Funky odors
I purchased our O3 Pure a year ago. No major complaints and really helped by dropping our detergent bill. However, about a month ago we noticed a foul odor from some of the clothes as they came out of the dryer. The odor persisted and even got worse as soon as you put them on. The problem became noticeably worse after wearing. Primarily the odor was most noticeable in cotton t-shirts. The manufacturer suggested examining the unit for detached tubing and back flushing the unit. All to no avail, same problem after multiple back flushes and wash & dry cycles. The manufacturer suggested that due to us being on well water, minerals in the water may be the problem. For the life of me I can’t figure out how minerals and ozone can target my t shirts and handkerchiefs from everything else that was in the load of laundry! Gave up on the O3 Pure, disconnected it and went back to straight tap water and eco friendly detergent. Problem solved. Will contact the manufacturer tomorrow (6-23-26) to find out about the “hassle free” promises found on their website.

Fresh Laundry, No Detergent Required: My Clothes Have Never Smelled This Good
I’ll admit, I was pretty skeptical about the O3 PURE Ozone Eco Laundry System at first. I mean, washing clothes without detergent? But wow, was I in for a surprise! After giving it a try, I’m absolutely blown away by how fresh my clothes smell—it's honestly amazing! Setting up the system was a breeze. The directions were clear and easy to follow, and it took me just 10 minutes to install it myself—no special tools needed. It attaches right to your existing washing machine, and the best part? No maintenance required. It only kicks into action when your washer is filling or rinsing, so it’s not wasting energy. Plus, it uses less than 45 watts of electricity, which is a win for my utility bill. For anyone with sensitive skin, this is a dream come true. No more worrying about detergent or chemicals—this system lets you wash your clothes with just cold water and still get them super clean. And if you’ve ever had to deal with the smell of mold or mildew, this thing wipes those odors out completely. The O3 PURE is more effective than the older ionic technology, and it comes with a true 3-year manufacturer parts and labor warranty, so you know it’s built to last. It’s also CE and RoHS certified, which gives me peace of mind knowing it’s safe and eco-friendly. All in all, I couldn’t be happier with the results. My laundry has never smelled fresher, and I love that I’m doing it without any harsh chemicals. My Rating System Explained: ⭐️ 1 star - Unfortunately, this product falls short of expectations due to its poor quality. I cannot recommend it. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - While there are aspects to appreciate, the product suffers from significant drawbacks or is priced too steeply for its value. It's GOOD
UPDATE: we originally purchased this (3 Pure) in December 2024 for the new home we were building. We were very disappointed when we opened it up and installed the unit. It leaked and pretty flooded our laundry room. We called the company, and they were willing to have us return it for a new unit, which they did! We installed the new unit, and so far, it is operating as described. The first load was washed without any problems. To have the option of washing without laundry detergent is wonderful! Imagine having to use detergents that ruin our fabrics and destroy the clothes we pay SO much money for. In addition to harming our garments, the fabric detergents use harmful chemicals and perfumes that cause irritants to the skin! Thank you for working with us, and please, if you are thinking of this type of laundry buddy to save your clothes and the environment, buy this unit for your home!

Skeptic, but Proving to be Effective
I saw this about a year ago, was eyeballing it and showed it to a coworker (close friend as well). Who actually had one (Different Make/Model) and LOVED IT! So about a year later of research and his continued positive review, another baby on the way (more premium soaps and lots of laundry). I decided to give it ago. My examples aren't pretty but shows its working in my opinion. We have an 18month old son who one night decided his Size4 diapers were no match for him. And peed on two sets of sheets and PJ's through the night. We then left town and forgot to wash them (I know ew!) but it happened, and during the 4hour car ride he had diarrhea which made it through the diaper before we could stop and change him. So that sets the stage for our main test... We're now home, and we tried our towels first which we were going to replace because no matter what setting we tried wouldn't completely get rid of the musty smell. We're loyal Tide users, so I feel higher end detergent should get towels clean. But they never smelled right. And would only really be fresh for a day or so. Ready to buy new ones we color safe tested the first load on the towels and everything was good. Towels came out smelling great! Wife used them this evening and couldn't be happier (even skipped the Downey to really give it the ol'college try). Then we focused our attention on the great examples our son provided us.... One-load later... Nothing smells, can't see any stains, I feel this would have been the fail point for this product. And it wasn't, currently impressed. I'll update more as we try it out. I've got 30days to prove or disprove its effectiveness or I'm stuck, so I'm going to make sure it can hold up. Now the CONS: - The hose provided did leak, will hit the hardware store tomorrow to buy a real one. - The plug is poorly thought out - our laundry room has recessed electrical plugs and I had to grab a surge protector to be able to plug it in. (A big box with prongs directly attached). - The unit feels a bit cheap, not less than I expected... But for $400 bucks would be nice, and I'd provide more inital confidence if everything felt more solid. - **You can smell the "Ozone" while the unit is running and it did make me cough while I was admiring the bubbles and blue light. We have a front load LG Direct Drive Unit. More sealed during operation than a top loader. Just an FYI if you're concerned - EPA doesn't paint air-bourne ozone very positively. Will keep clear especially with the kids while unit is running. ======= UPDATE ======= Had this installed for about 2 weeks, still enjoying it as much as the first day. Got out some dried strawberry stains from a light colored polo. Not sure if plain water would have done it as well - but no hint of the stain was left after washing. Our towels smell fresh longer than before, clothes are showing no sign of odor and look/feel clean. I saw someone marked my review not helpful, curious what was lacking I'd be happy to update with specifics. Thank!

El producto va genial, mi opinión es que deja la ropa muy suave. Además del ahorro de detergente está el ahorro eléctrico pues sólo funciona con agua fría. Agradecer la atención del vendedor, el trato un diez.
