I was initially worried it would look too matter and monotone, but with light brushing on the high points (see image) you can easily create lighter tips and deeper colored valleys in the basing goop. It was pretty easy to spread as well; I used a popsicle stick that i whittled down into a miniature spade of sorts. Nothing flakes off, nothing chips, and it's strong enough once set to hold the tiny tufts of grass and other fiddly bits (shell casings made of plastic, small rocks and shale, etc) without the need for additional glue. A bit pricier than competitors, but worth it and definitely show model worthy.
