The door knob (handle below the dead bolt) acts as an anchor for the Grip to prevent the dead bolt from turning. With the dead bolt knob secured by the Grip, opening and closing the door knob/handle is ineffective at opening the door. **Q: I'm confused. If it keeps intruders out, even with the key, how do YOU get back in? I don't get how this works.** A: It works while you are inside. When you are outside this device is not protecting you. But I do feel so much safer, while I am inside knowing that anyone making a bump key can't get in while I am home. I tried having a friend use my key and try to open the lock while I was inside and they couldn't open it. It is portable and you can take it to a hotel while on vacation. It protects you while you are inside. **Q: Does it work for key fob activated doors?** A: I think it will but not sure because the key fob doors have a motor and has more strength than a key a key can break or the motor might get tight and go back to the locked position you would have to try it . If you try it try it with the door open just in case the motors sticks . **Q: How do you place it on a door that does not lock? The doors at my job do not have locks in the restroom** A: This gadget only lasted two times. It is amazing. ### ⭐ Design Flaw *by C***T on September 10, 2020* This is a great concept! But could have been designed better. In the past, I've used duct tape to accomplish the same thing. I take a long strand of duct tape, roll it length-wise into a tubular shape with the sticky side out, then twist the duct tape into a rope like chord, and then strapping down the dead bolt to the door knob by wrapping it around in a loop, and being sure to tug down on the deadbolt in the locked position (see photos) I had even considered creating a similar product this one. But this product has a design flaw, at least with regards my particular dead bolt. My deadbolt is flush up against the door. This Super Grip needs to get behind the dead bolt in order for it to work at all. Since my dead bolt is flush up against the door, the dead bolt can't slip inside the 'pocket' that's part of the strap. I called the company, they recognized the design flaw and had no fix. I returned the product. They could have at least put a disclaimer on the product description. If they fix the design flaw, this would be an amazing product. Affordable, portable. If you have the proper dead bolt, buying this is a no-brain'er. If I had the proper dead-bolt or if this was designed differently, I would have bought one for the front door, one for the back door, and one for traveling. I'll just go back to using my duct tape.
