PR102 Straight Edge Guide for Palm Routers

Seems like solid quality that will last a long time and work well.

This was a game changer for me. I don't have a table saw and I'd rather not buy one. I've been able to route dados up to several inches into a piece. The lines are about as straight as I could imagine them. Hope this video of me routing a piece of hickory gives you an idea of how it works.

I couldn’t find photos anywhere on how this thing actually installs to the base so I’ve included some photos for anybody who may want to see before purchasing. As far as sturdiness, the guide parts aren’t machined to be a perfect fit so there is a bit of movement between the parts. So just make sure to tighten everything down real tight to reduce that. But the farther you extend the guide arm out, the more it is prone to shift. I used a 1/4” Straight Bit for checking these depths but the minimum extension depth is about 3/16” from the edge of your work piece and the maximum is about 4 1/8”. That measurement is of course different depending on the diameter of your router bit, but that should give you a good idea of the guide’s range.

This was a quick addition to my Bosch trim router, it attached easily and made mortising a door a breeze.

This edge guide is of heavy guage metal. Looks like it will last a life-time. very please with the edge guide. Would definately recomment but would be a better value if it was $5 less expensive.

It is a toy, not a professional guide. It is well made and I believe will last, but the whole point of the guide is to provide precise and accurate cuts and this one just does not deliver. The angle is not a perfect 90 degree to begin with and once you push it onto something it bends even more a good 2-4 millimeters, so depending on the required precision you may want to look for a proper router table.

It has made some of my guitar work much easier and less time consuming
