The lowest is more of a loud hum or buzz sound.. I keep mine on medium. **Q: What is the distance range on the pager? Can I go next door with it? For a walk in the neighborhood?** A: They advertised the range to be 300 feet, however, I have found that the range is much more like 50-100 feet at best. You definitely can't go for a walk in the neighborhood.
