Amazing fun. Wonderful bit of technology. If you love dance music, perhaps have an autistic streak, and are content to irritate everyone within earshot…….. this is the best toy you will ever own. Honestly they’re incredible just buy it you will be so happy for the cost.

LOVE this so much. Pick up and play. No recording, it's all about the moment. That said you can run it through effects to get some variation and depth. As it stands the presets are fairly good. Stocking filler or impulse purchase irresistible at this price. Lag is almost unnoticeable and when the pad surface gets dirty you can get double hits bit isopropyl cleans it up nicely.

First off - for the price this is not a professional drum machine. What you get is a new version of a Stylophone beat machine using the normal Stylophone stylus control onto a metal dum keypad. You get 4 drum and bass voices to choose: box, hip, tech, rock and a 4 part looper, one filter effect. Voices can be transposed. Sounds are useable. Let’s do some negatives: you can’t mix different voices, no volume control on any of the sounds, you can store 4 drum/bass patterns but loose them when you switch off, no external control, no indication of what tempo you are playing. Positives: it’s fun, the audio out means you could connect the audio to another piece of gear such as a eurorack module or outboard effects, this could give the Beat a life beyond just simple fun. A cheap way of laying down a basic drum beat or idea. Use with a Stylophone GenX for more fun - pity there is nothing to sync them. At this price a no brainier for the musician that has everything. If you're someone who wants to spend their life behind a screen constantly striving for perfection with a little adjustment here a little adjustment there only for your "hard work" to end up sounding absolute generic horse muck that's riddled with self centered lyrics and a complete mess, meaningless and utterly useless and embarrassing for society no help at all because you realise you're not an artist you're just simply imitating what it looks like from an outside pov because youre empty inside, never will be creative and will never know people who are... then this isn't for you. But IF on the other hand you happen to be a complete artiste then you'll be buying one of these. Such enjoyment being limited by it's functions and what a great sound you get with them. I've always fantasised about some kind of box that doesn't need a computer and after updating myself recently and reading about "groove boxes" I came across this and fully committed because it's stylophone. Literally one of if not THEE best thing I've ever bought in my life Buy it N O W ! ...be sure to try Rec sliding the bass octave right round fast, slow, up and down, play around with variations and you're coming out with Chemical Brothers sounding stuff literally within minutes.

Easy to use and fun to make music with!

I was skeptical about how much enjoyment I could get out of a two-bar beatbox but I spent most of my first evening playing around with it and grinning. It's a simple device that packs a lot of sound-tweaking abilities away through different inputs. It's easy to punch in a drum and bass part, but then you can replay parts of a bar live at different speeds, drop out individual drums with a touch, copy patterns, transpose and bend notes on the fly and apply a great high pass filter. The tiny internal speaker is a bit thin as you'd expect but it's an absolute monster through headphones. I only have two tiny criticisms - it'd be nice if it could run off a power supply like a 9v pedal one, and when you run the output into another device (like the aux on a guitar multi effects) it can be a bit hissy. That said, I'm still on the original batteries. This is one of those devices that'll kickstart inspiration every time you're stuck for ideas. Should be on everyone's shelf!

I bought this as a toy for myself and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The kids also like to have a go. - and they often come up with something good. You get 2 bars to do whatever you want. Lots of options a sounds - couldn't be easier. It is a toy though - decent quality- but don't expect any serious professional use. It's just cool to have a little play. Take a look on YouTube - there are plenty of vids. So long as you can count to four, you'll be able to create a loop.

J’adore cette instrument. Musicien professionnel, je l’utilise pour créer des rythmes et une ligne de basse de façon amusante. Pas de mémoire interne et c’est parfait pour ce genre d’instrument lowfi. Les possibilités multiples au cours de l’enregistrement compense l’absence de mémoire interne. Parfait pour s’amuser et jouer sans prise de tête.

Divertido pero hay que tener cuidado con el cable, se rompe fácilmente si no lo trata con cuidado o lo usas mucho.
