The PH meter does not work. It reads between 7 &8 no matter what soil I put it in. I even put it in moistened coffee grounds which are extremely acid. and it still reads between 7&8. Moisture meter and light meter are working fine. But I bought this to test for ph on some very expensive and delicate plants. I have been watering with acid water for two weeks and the soil still reads the same. I’m worried now that I have damaged my plants and have had to flush them all and report some of them.

Great device for checking your soil PH or moisture content. I now know if I'm over watering my plants or not. Great for indoor or outdoor plants. Only drawback is the meter reading is accurate when the two prongs are in the soil. When you pull it out the reading goes away. You therefore need to get down to see it while it's in the soil.

I purchased the iPower Soil pH Meter, 3-in-1 Tester Kit for Moisture, Light & pH for Home and Garden. Works great. I haven't had any issues. This was a gift and she couldn't be happier. To be quite honest, it's only primarily used for water testing now but the other features work fine. You can tell whether there's enough light or not without the gage anyway. The PH level is only checked periodically to make sure it's right... but the moisture gage is used quite often and gives you a reading almost immediately for moisture. Dead accurate. Then its put away. The gage is not left in the ground for long unless the soil is being tested for PH. Then the gage is put away. The gage is not left in the ground for prolonged periods of time and is well taken care of. Still works great through a couple seasons. There's a couple of these types of gages on the market. I was weary because I figured cheap price means cheap equipment, but in this case for this company.. if it's well taken care of.. it should last.

Plopped it in a highly visible spot in the vegetable garden - turned it on moisture setting; water garden when it gets too low. Seems to work, plants are doing good - so it must be working - keeps me from overwatering. I don't use the light feature at all as I know my garden gets enough light throughout the day. The one thing I can't seem to validate, and its one of the reasons I bought it, is the pH meter. It always reads the highest pH, I can't get it to move for anything; I've changed pH of water, changed soil, etc etc. it just sits at the highest setting. As a result I am now awaiting delivery of another pH test kit (the old litmus paper method) so I can see if it is accurate. My lower rating is because I haven't seen this feature work.

Not Quite sure of the pH accuracy but it definitely gives you a ballpark range of your soil pH. And I'm pretty certain it's working perfect with moist soil it barely reads my cactuses says they are bone dry and reads my tropical plant hyacinth as moist so the moisture readings seem pretty good. It definitely helps you get a general sense if you're bad at watering plants I would definitely recommend this for a beginner

Junk! As a new container gardener this was my worst purchase so far. I thought this will keep me from over watering my plants and tell me if my soil is acidic as I have quite a few acid loving plants. This meter kept registering all my plants' moisture level as "wet" and my soil pH as 7.5 - 8 which is sweet soil (alkaline). I was in a panic trying to locate soil amendments that would lower my pH quickly. However, sulfur is a slow process, other products that raise/lower pH are strictly for hydroponics gardeners. My plants were dying and I didn't know what to do. I contacted a local nursery and asked if they carried any potting soil for acid loving plants. After he interrogated me, I just packed up my container plants, all the products that I had (organic insecticides/fungicides/soil amendments) and took them to his nursery. Do you know what he did? He stuck his finger in my plants' soil and said they were bone dry. I said no they are not they are all "wet." Luckily, I had the meter with me. I inserted it in several plants to show him. He told me to throw it away. He says that these meters are all the rage because it's trending in gardening; however, they are junk. He says he sells them in his nursery but advise all his customers to just give their plants the finger (up to your first knuckle). I stuck my finger in my plants' soil and he was right. I had to stick my entire finger in the soil to feel any moisture. My babies were thirsty. Not to mention, it's been averaging 95 degrees in Memphis. I was so outraged! I threw the meter in their garbage on my way out the door. Oh, the pH on the soil was actually 6.5...perfect for acid loving plants. I bought a soil test kit from the nursery. Amazon sells them too. It has the different colored caps for you to put a sample of your soil in and give it a shake.

This tool has helped me know when to water my houseplants. The directions say it all- I think it says leave it in the soil for 10 mins and use the scale to determine if it needs water. It gives directions on when to water all different kind of plants. I thought of leaving it in one of my plants to check on the water- but the directions say to take it out and wipe it off. Keeping the probe clean probably makes it last longer. I love using this for watering. None of my plants have an unusual pH. And for the light scale, it usually reads low light until it is super sunny or I put it very close to my grow light so it did not help me too much. Most of my plants require indirect filtered light anyway. Love this for watering, would absolutely recommend for any house plant parent!

I cannot even express how much I love this thing. I check ph a couple hrs after watering, I checked light once to make sure my plants were properly placed and I check moisture levels every other day. With moisture and light you don’t have to wait the 10 mins, that’s only for pH, it gives you the reading right away. It’s awesome so I just go from plant to plant and I’m done in a couple of minutes. My plants have gotten so lushes and green and big now that I don’t even over or underwater and that that they are in the right spot in my home. The price on this is a steal for what it does. If you’re one to always kill your plants GET THIS.
