Device works perfectly when I looked at the back where the connection cord is located
I was getting ready to return this item as it did not work on my MacBook Air with only "C" input available. The box comes with USB on one end and a C connector on the other. It didn't work. Today I happened to look on the back side of the device and there was a cord hard wired and the other end with both USB and C..Plugged in the C end and now it works perfectly. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Do Not Buy. Does not Work!
Do not buy!!! Absolutely TERRIBLE as It simply does not work. My CDs and DVDs get stuck, it cycles and acts like it will play but then shuts off and does nothing. Total waste of $40.

External DVD Player Works Great!
I LOVE THIS external DVD reader! I could not imagine it would work so great on my MacBook Air right away! It arrived promptly, well packed, no problems at all to unpack and use. I just plugged it in to my Mac and put in the DVD I had been waiting to see. I am very pleased. Super happy. I will be using it a lot now for some recently bought DVD's of concerts I was afraid I could never see again. And a very reasonable price! Highly recommend!

Not a bad buy!
It seems fairly easy to use. Not the best quality picture. It was purchased to see old videos on my computer and it is fine for that but watching a movie leaves much to be desired. it can not be used in a multiple cable tower. It needs to be connected to the devise of choice.

VikTok USB-C SuperDrive External DVD/CD Reader…
Works as described. It was easy installation for plug and play on my 2023 Apple MacBook Pro. I recommend this product for anyone looking for an external DVD/CD player

Didn't work
Did not work with my Mac Mini. After plugging into USB-C port, it would start to run, I would insert an audio CD, it would pull up the menu and ask if I wanted to download it. I would click yes, it would show the first track downloading, but would stop spinning the CD, after a minute or two, it would give me an error message saying the download could not be completed. Then the whole unit would vanish from the list of devices, as if the power was off. I tried several times, even tried re-booting my system as recommended by the manufacturer, but nothing changed. Even tried just playing the CD, that did not work either. Unlike other's experience, I was able to get my CD to eject, after unplugging, then plugging back into the port and essentially re-activating the power. Returned this unit and ordered an Asus, which worked from the first plug-in with no issues, confirming the problem was this unit, not my system. Do not waste your money on this one, spend the extra $5-10 on a name brand unit.

Good external DVD player
I needed a DVD player since computers don’t come with them anymore. This one fit the bill. Good pice, came quickly and works just fine.
