Superb little phone, full of features, great for a child or anyone without sausage fingers.
A couple of months in now, and this phone has been perfect for my 10 year old's first phone. Originally I considered a dumb phone, but really wanted tracking so needed to go smart. I wanted small so it could fit into his pocket nicely and also would deter him from wanting to play too many games on it. I've locked it down using Google Family link, which means he can only install apps with my permission (and password) and that he can't disable location settings and things like that. The battery life is excellent, and easily lasts 2-3 days with minimal use. The signal is excellent with ASDA mobile (£5 pm). It's small, quite light weight and pocket sized, so fits into his jeans pocket. The price £180 is reasonable for the features of the phone. It looks great and appealing, and slightly unusual. It's as easy to use for him, who has great eyesight and small fingers, but I struggle to see the screen and type on the screen - due to me being old and having sausage fingers. I think it's a perfect first phone for a 10 year old, it suits my budget, has all the features he needs, and should see him through the next couple of years hopefully.

So much better than I was expecting
I am extremely impressed with this phone. It is completely functional despite being tiny, extremely light, and astonishingly cheap. For context, I am coming from an iPhone 11 Pro and purchased this because I wanted something lighter and smaller for Anki and Duolingo. This is about half the weight and size of my iPhone. It is absolutely perfect for Anki; the text is completely legible, the controls work well, the speaker is perfectly sufficient for audio files containing speech on the cards, and most importantly, it is so light and small that I can easily use it one-handed for hours with minimal fatigue even while laying in bed. The experience is exactly the same as on my phone, except much better thanks to the size and weight. That said, typing is a bit inconvenient for cards that require typed answers, but I don't have too many of those and it's still perfectly doable, you just need to be a bit more careful. Duolingo is a bit less optimal in that the app is different than on a larger device, but it is completely functional all the same; it's just that you have to tap a button to bring up the answer choices and there aren't as many to choose from, but this is at most a minor inconvenience and in fact I would even consider it a step up from the default experience to some degree since it prevents you from accidentally seeing the answer while thinking of it. In terms of performance, I have not noticed any lag or stuttering at all. In fact, I would say that the performance is better than my iPhone 11 Pro based on how quick it is to navigate around the phone and open apps, but since I don't have an Android device to reference I can't say how much of that is due to the OS. Obviously the phone itself feels pretty cheap and I'm not enamored by the unnecessary camera bump and things like that, but given that I only paid 180 GBP for it I'm not docking any points for that. Considering the price and that this is the only smartphone available at this size and weight which supports a (relatively) recent OS, I think the five star rating is fully justified. I am very happy that someone is still making reasonably sized phones and am so pleased with this little thing that I'm probably going to end up installing LineageOS and making it my main device.

Full featured tiny Anroid phone
Why I wanted a small second phone to take for an evening out, something I could use in an emergency for calls but also use for Whatsapp, with bluetooth to connect to my car. The good: This phone is tiny, barely bigger than my car key, so perfect size wise. Android auto works as well as my '"full size" Samsung ultra, no difference at all - so podcasts work, maps, voice control etc etc. You can use Whatsapp, google maps and basically any other app, including banking apps. Google pay works normally so there's nothing really you can't do on this phone. The bad The fingerprint scanner occasionally glitches, send it to sleep, wake up and it's fine. The screen is very small, so don't expect to read documents easily. Watching YouTube etc isn't the easiest, audio is fine but again the screen is so small you can't really see any detail. The ugly Due to the small screen size typing is an issue. By the time the keyboard is displayed you can barely see what you've typed. You can live with that, but the main issue is the keyboard is so small each key is tiny so you can easily hit any of about 6 letters with each press. It's a minor grumble, I mainly get around it by using voice typing, it saves a lot of hassle. Summary Perfect for what I wanted, small size to take out without a giant phone in my pockets, NFC, android auto etc so it's a winner, just don't expect to enjoy doomscrolling, it's so small it's hard to call it a pleasure to use.

Great little phone.
I've been using this phone for about 6 months with the minimalist phone launcher. All my essential apps, banking, contactless payment, security camera, house alarm etc work. WhatsApp works well on this phone. 'Big launcher' also works nicely. I like having the smaller phone, it's easier to carry about. I mainly got it to spend less time on my phone and it has really helped with this - whilst not being the complete switch-off of a dumb phone. I still have a large smartphone which I use in the house on WiFi sometimes, and have set it up to be a secondary phone on WhatsApp meaning I can look at photos people send me more easily if I want to. Only locked chats are unavailable this way. I use the Jellystar in the case it came with, it doesn't make it too cumbersome but it is deeper than a traditional smartphone. The case seems to protect the phone quite well and it has survived a number of falls - the wristband makes the phone easier to grab and harder to misplace. I would recommend this phone as a daily phone for people looking to cut down, or carry less. The battery life is good, probably because you use it less. My only small issue is that the screen sometimes kicks in during phone calls, so to stop misdialling or hanging up I usually use it on speaker. I am absolutely stunned at the amount of attention this phone gets when I use it e.g. to pay. I have never been asked about anything I own more, so if you like this kind of attention this phone is also for you!

An excellent dinky phone
I have wanted a small smartphone for a long time and have tried a couple different devices (e.g. Cubot Kingkong mini 2 pro and some other older androids) but in the end decided to go with Jelly Star. It's a great phone which packs more features that most flag ships today. You get your 8GB RAM, 256 GB internal storage, SD card slot, IR blaster to control your TV with, rear mounted fingerprint senson, even a headphone jack and my favourite - front LED notification light (as well as those funky LED lights on the back). In terms of performance, Helio G99 is only a 4G SOC but plenty fast and in terms of performance, I'd say it's on par with midrange phones of yesteryear such as Pixel 4A. It may get a touch warm under load but never hot and due to its tiny size, you are not likely to play Genshin Impact on it anyway (although it can handle it well) and my kids borrow it when I'm not looking to play Pokemon Go :) Screen is positively tiny (3") and relatively low resolution but due to its small size you still get decent pixel density so image quality is actually very good. Camera is OK. Nothing to write home about but for casual snaps and video calls it's OK. Battery life - Now I am not a huge phone user as I prefer to use other devices to browse the internet and watch stuff online so your mileage may vary. With phone being fully charged by 6AM, I have about 60% battery left by 10 PM. That's with some web browsing, phone calls, online banking and some other app use. I am perfectly happy with this. Signal quality is decent and phone calls are OK. One thing I was worried about was the typing experience on such a small screen. I am fairly tall with big hands and chunky fingers so I was surprised to see how easy it was to type on it. Your experience may differ but I find that using glide typing on gboard works very well and I don't have any issues with it. Small screen is obviously not ideal for use with apps like Google Sheets but for general viewing is OK if you manage your expectations. I got the phone delivered around mid-September 2023 and got one firmware update since then. I would not expect any Android updates on this device (given Unihertz history) but it would be nice to get at least a few Android security updates going forward. It runs on fairly stock Android 13 so you should not have any issues with app compatibility. It has 8 GB of RAM so multitasking should not be an issue but I found that the system is very, very trigger happy with killing apps running in the background, to the point where it liked to kill my music player when streaming via bluetooth in my car. You can change this 'optimisation' on per app basis in settings (which worked) but I don't see the need to have 8GB RAM to just kill everything else that's not running mentality (but that is similar with other Android devices). Overall, I am really happy with this device and I'm planning to keep it as my daily driver for a long time. By the way, I just got a new work phone which is a giant 6.6" Samsung. I found that keeping those two phones together on my desk is always a good conversation starter.

Perfect little phone
I love this phone! It wasn't exactly my first choice as I was hoping to get a 2022 iPhone SE but couldn't afford to, and I needed a phone urgently due to my honour X7 freezing constantly and not responding to anything, so decided to look for something that would do for a temporary measure. I was looking for something small due to having small hands and came across this one, I've never seen three inch screen phones before, or even heard of them, so thought I'd try it out and it's perfect! The phone is very very small so be prepared for a massive downgrade from a large screen but it's very compact, light and easy to use. The keyboard fits the size of the screen and is very small so if you have large hands this isn't the phone for you (fyi I'm currently writing this review on the jelly star phone!) It does come with a case and lanyard which is great when out walking as you can have it round your wrist making it easier to answer phone calls and messages, especially if it's important and your worried bout not being able to locate it due to its size. The memory capacity is awesome so far with all the 85 apps transferred across from my honour phone, as well as pictures, files and emails that I've transferred as well I've only used 13% of the 256 GB memory. It does have capacity for a 128 GB memory card too if the slot is not used for another SIM card. The sound quality is excellent, it's loud and clear much like you'd expect on a high end brand of phone. It does have some pre installed apps one of which is student mode where if your working, studying, or need some time out from screen time you can open up study mode and have some apps restricted for a set time, being a university student this is going to come in extremely useful when I go back to uni as less distractions. After a bit of researching I discovered that unihertz are the only company that have this app available so it's 100% one of a kind. Despite it's size the picture quality when streaming Netflix, Prime video and Disney+ is awesome! It's in HD quality and the picture is crystal clear almost like it's in 4K HD, I can also watch a 2 hour film without needing to have it on charge while streaming so it's performance so far has been flawless. It doesn't take very long for it to reach full charge either when plugged in, it does get a bit warm when charging at first but soon cools itself down with no issues and I can safely leave it on a charge overnight like I have done with my previous phones. Overall it's definitely become my favourite purchase from Amazon so far and 100% staying as my permanent phone rather than as a temporary one, if you're looking for a small phone I'd definitely recommend this one it's definitely excellent value for money!

Overheated/melted when charging. Terrible customer service
I never write a negative review before giving the manufacturer the opportunity to respond or attempt to relsove the issue. Unfortunately, Unihertz's customer service is awful. They made absolutely no effort to try and resolve the issue I was having and even started to ignore my messages. Thankfully, the return process through Amazon was easier and I have been offered a refund. Anyway, about the phone. I loved this phone as it was tiny, nicely weighted and did everything I needed it to do. That is until one day, as I was charging it, it melted. The battery completely overheated on a routine charge using the supplied Unihertz cable. Bought in June 2024, it wasn't even 6 months old and I made every effort never to charge it above 80% as I had read somewhere that keeping the battery between 40-80% would prolong battery life. Following the smell of burning plastic, I quicly unplugged the charger and noticed the (Unihertz) cable was melted and the charging port scorched with signs of melting around the case and port. After this, I no longer trust the device and now consider it a fire hazard. How could I confidently leave it charging around the house after this? As mentioned, Unihertz had no interest in trying to find a solution. I would not recommend this product due to safety concerns and non-existent customer service. Photos attached.

Updated
I've had this phone for a few weeks now. Pros: Easy to fit in your pocket. Does everything you need a smartphone to do. Easy to use with one hand (I use glide texting but can still type with some accuracy). Reduces screen time based on size of phone. Easy to use. Cons: Experiencing constant crashing of Spotify. I've troubleshooted this with the recommendations from Unihertz, changed settings, and cleared cache multiple times to no avail. If you do want to do something specific on your phone (ie online Christmas shopping), the eye strain makes this tricky, but this is a known element when you purchase the phone. Fingerprint sensor is unreliable and only works on 1 out of 10 attempts. The lights on the back are a gimmick but otherwise pretty pointless, and I imagine a waste of battery. Battery life is short, but based on the size of the phone this is to be expected. Conclusion: It's a cute, decent phone. It has significantly reduced my screentime on the basis that prolonged use is difficult based on screen size. That being said, if you do need to use it for something specific, it may give you a headache, so be aware. UPDATE: After less than two months of use, the phone has stopped functioning properly and continuously freezes (I note others have reported problems shortly after purchase). It has become completely unusable. My husband (former telecoms worker) has done basic troubleshooting and added more ram with no benefit. As per Amazon's advice, I contacted Unihertz and asked to return the device as faulty. I've requested this three times now, but they are insisting I do further troubleshooting or a factory reset (thus losing everything sorted on the phone). They've basically ignored my request, even though I've stressed that I would be concerned about further problems if I kept the phone. I will have to sell our scrap the phone at a considerable loss to myself. Avoid this company and item if possible - it's just not worth the risk or the hassle.

Love My Tiny Phone
I have to say I am pleasantly impressed of my new tiny phone. My main concern was keyboard accuracy but surprisingly it's not an issue no more than a regular-sized phone. It feels great ergonomically in my hands. I can read the screen clearly and it comes already with a screen protector (you get a 2nd one as a spare) and case installed to the phone. You do get a charger block unlike the popular namebrand phones, so there's that too if you need one. The sound quality was better than expected and the speakerphone is VERY LOUD and clear. You can make it even louder in the device settings but the default setting is loud enough imo. I am coming to this phone from a Samsung Z Fold5 which is a $2000 phone and I have to say I see no difference performance-wise between the two. This tiny phone is fast and I haven't experienced any lag or lock ups. I use NFC a lot and it works great if not even faster than my Z Fold5. My Samsung Buds Pro also work perfectly with it with great sound. Finger sensor also works great. I don't really have any cons but I do have a few peeves. The volume button doesn't increase/decrease with holding it down like other phones, so you have to keep pressing it to change it. As expected, the camera quality is not good, it's blurry and off-colored because it's sensitive to indoor lights. Images may have a yellow hue that have to be corrected with custom settings, so you can't just use the default camera settings with this phone. I had to adjust the white balance. You don't buy a $200 mini phone for camera-quality anyway but it's great for just capturing moments. My other peeve is that it runs completely on the Google ecosystem of apps and nothing works without them. I don't like Google so I normally uninstall all their apps when I get an Android, but you can't do that with this phone. First, you can't uninstall the Google apps, you can only disable them. But if you disable them, then some features on the phone won't work. For instance, I disabled Google Photos but then I couldn't view any of my pictures or set wallpapers, so I was forced to reinstall it. Just something to note for other people out there who rebuke Google products. I was able to replace something though, like I was able to disable Google Drive so I could use Proton Drive. The built-in IR remote app doesn't work with anything I've tried, so I think that app just doesn't work. But overall, this phone is a fun tiny powerful novelty phone that I got for no other reason than being the tiniest I could find without sacrificing the features of my Z Fold5. My boyfriend laughs at it. Never heard of Unihertz but you've won a new customer. As long as the quality keeps up through the years, I will definitely stick with this brand (Samsung lost me as a customer with their latest phone release). And this is coming from a diehard Samsung fan since the first Samsung smartphone.

Mamma mia!!! Super soddisfatto, consiglio l'acquisto! Mi raccomando però, siate consapevoli di quello che state acquistando! Super felice!

Very happy with the purchase
I’m very happy with this phone! At first, I was hesitant to use it as my primary device and always carried a full-sized smartphone with me when leaving the house. However, it has proven to be a great phone, and it’s now my main smartphone. Because of its small size, I’m much less likely to spend excessive time browsing the web, which was exactly what I hoped for when choosing this model. That said, it includes all the essential features I missed in basic phones. There’s no 5G, but in a city with good coverage, I don’t notice any difference. The camera isn’t great, but it works fine for documenting something or making video calls. The keyboard is very small, but since I have small hands, I got used to it quickly. Swiping to type without lifting my finger makes it much more convenient on such a tiny keyboard. All the drawbacks come from the challenge of fitting full smartphone functionality into such a compact device, but for me, these small inconveniences are worth it. Holding this phone feels great, it fits into all pockets—even those in women's clothing (if you know, you know!), and call quality is good on both ends. I also love that it comes with a loop for holding and has a dedicated attachment point on the case—sure, you can buy such accessories separately, but having one included is a nice touch. I really hope Unihertz continues making similar models, even if they remain a niche product.
